I still haven't gotten my interviews yet.

Is it normal?

Should I be worried?

Should I call Princeton?

Is it normal?

Should I be worried?

Should I call Princeton?

I would suggest calling, it can't hurt. If you don;t get one don't be worried. I had mine the other day and it was horrible. I wish I hadn't had one :)

on a postitive note, I never had an interview, still here (P-ton) though

Don't worry too much about it. (Are you in OC or the IE?) The Princeton Club of Southern California just sent out mass emails begging for interviewers because RD applicants far outnumber alumni interviewers here in SoCal, especially in the Inland Empire. If you're in the IE, you might in fact be getting telephone interviews, so watch your phone.

But don't obsess over the phone, okay? It's a good way to give yourself an aneurysm every time it rings. Think about more important things, like how you're going to see me at Cal State Fullerton this Friday for the ASCE thing. ;)

I heard the deadline for getting an interview is as late as some time in March.

My son is also waiting on an interview. We have a close friend who is a Princeton alum, and he did some checking for us. In our city, they are bogged down: too many applicants, and not enough alumni interviewers. They said there is still a chance he will get one and, if not, it shouldn't hurt his application.

Reporting deadline is 3/3. (I'm an alum interviewer).

Princeton is supposed to call for an interview right?

Yes, an alum volunteer will call you, if there are enough volunteers.

so i shouldn't worry if i dont get an interview

My interviewer told me that the interview is for applicant to know more about Princeton, and he doesn't think it has much bearings on admission decisions.

o well, its too late for the interview.

i never got it =[

i hope it doesn't affect me in a negative manner.

Don't worry too much about it. I was told that Princeton interviews are non-evaluative, which means that they do not bear much significance in the admissions process. As cy_sunset said, Pton interviews are for applicants to learn more about Princeton, and that's what I did during mine. In fact, I asked more questions than the interviewer did.

well, I was contacted for an interview just now, so maybe the deadline is not really 3/3?

katerila, did you call the Pton admissions office or anything about an interview, or did you just get contacted by an alum?

no, I didn't call, I received an e-mail by an alumna. I am an international and I got a phone interview

thanks for responding so quickly!

well i got my pton interview yesterday... phone interview and i am an international... so it seems it aint after all 3rd march deadline..

also it is pretty obvious that they dont have much big impact till recent yrs but this yr pton has taken far more no. of interviews than usual which goes ahead to mean mayb this yr they are taking a diff approach to these..

My interviewer did Bachelors and Phd frm Princeton and masters frm Harvard .. and is presently an Assistant professor at Harvard.. i wonder why he took my interview.. oh and also he is an advisor for MIT ..

SM

3/3 reporting deadline: for completed interviews.
Between then & 3/12 contact deadline: get any last-minute contacts & intvs in, as much as possible.
No contacts after 3/12, as Adm in committees for final reviews!

No, in Vietnam there are still several interviews on Saturday. Don't worry guys
