Should I keep waiting until Mid-March like the email said to, or should I call the admissions office?

I would have called admissions office.

Interview reports are due tomorrow. I’m really sorry to report this, but if you haven’t been contacted by an interviewer by now, you are not going to have an interview.

Not sure what you mean by mid-March – if you had not heard about an interview by Feb. 1, that’s when you should have called.

I’ve said this on this board before, but…you MIGHT count your blessings. My D has had many interviews but her Brown interview went WAY sour - the only one. An extremely rude, offensive interviewer.

I hear this all the time… NOT having an interview can’t hurt or help you. Having one, if it’s not good, CAN hurt you.

R124688: I’m really sorry that your daughter’s interview went so badly. She might want to consider reporting this person to the alumni relations office when all is over. We really don’t want rude and offensive people interviewing applicants.

Hopefully your daughter’s experience was the exception and not the rule.

i was going to say not to worry about it because my interview was 3 weeks before ED decisions came out, but I know that fireandrain would know much more about this than I would, considering he is an interview lol. I would’ve been happy without an interview. Bad interview = hurt you. Good interview = same spot you were at before the interview. That’s how I think of it.

When I said mid-march I was referencing the email sent out

"Alumni Interviews:
Now that you have decided to apply to Brown, we will notify our alumni volunteers in your region who will contact you to arrange an interview. Those conversations ordinarily take place from late October through late November for Early Decision candidates and from mid-January to mid-March for Regular Decision candidates. "

But if you guys say it isn’t a big deal then I guess I wont worry about it.

Is it a coincidence that I just got an email about an interview?

You must have sent a telepathic interview request. Good luck!

It is probably because as fireandrain said, the reports are due tomorrow.

That’s funny, I have an interview tomorrow!

Moral of the story: don’t trust anyone on CC who claims that he/she has inside knowledge. When in doubt call the admissions office.

My d was contacted saying Brown was doing lots of interview in NYC on Feb. 20th, but she can’t go because of a commitment to her Harvard - MIT math tournament team to compete that day in Cambridge.

brabble: I’m glad you heard about an interview.

I am very puzzled by the email you got. I know for a fact that interview reports are due today, Feb. 15, and we are not supposed to be interviewing people through mid-March. I wonder if that is a typo.

Interview reports are due today, but this is a special year given applicant quantities, so I have a feeling they might be running behind in some places. Even last year, desperate e-mails were sent out to people in my region well after the deadline trying to get people to do phone interviews of candidates from other regions. In the end, I think the deadline is a little flexible as necessary. This is Brown, after all, so flexibility and lack of attention to ‘rules’ is to be expected :-)

I have not been contacted about an interview either, and I live in southeastern CT. I hope that your theory is right, mgcsinc!!
