Has anyone else not gotten a letter yet? I'm getting a little frustrated...

my d is still waiting also, she applied 12/1 and all of her friends who applied after her in mid january have been accepted with higher and lower stats than hers. I think they just give the apps a toss and those that fall inside the circle get in. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason for decision letters going out. so you are not the only one still waiting.

My D is still waiting too. Everyone that applied that she knows of has already heard. They've been accepted or waitlisted....no rejections. She applied in Oct. I called the other day and they said she'll be hearing any day now.

I'm waiting too...

just wondering if major has anyting to do with timing of decision letters - my d is marine biology - anyone else's major biology?

my d just got her letter this afternoon - waitlisted for fall - admitted for spring semester - needless to say it was not a good day.

cathouse (geez i feel trashy just saying that!)

your daughter should realize many would give their eyeteeth for that spring acceptance. S went spring route to USC 2 years ago. never regretted it. he had an SC focus and never waivered. they were very good about integrating the spring kids into the program, from early fall. the school treated you like a fall admitee from day one, saying they just didn't have 200 more slots otherwise your kid would've been in. he's a very happy sophomore and the spring entry concerns are a distant memory. so if your kid really wants northeastern, get parked at a local community college, get some easier credit and save $20 thou and be raring to go in spring.

that said, i also know it's a tough time to be both an applicant and an applicant's parent. consider me your group therapy. it will be over soon!

thanks for the pep talk norweejunwood, it was what i was thinking also about not totally a bad thing to happen. But i will wait until she calms down a bit - she is upset that her friends that applied much later than her were accepted within a few weeks of sending in their application. She thought she was doing something good to apply within "priority" timelines but she feels this is what left her in the dust.

By the way don't feel too trashy about using the word "cathouse" i have a house full of 8 cats and 3 dogs so i guess it should be cat/doghouse11

I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN A LETTER, PHONE CALL, OR AN E-MAIL! What is going on!?

Maybe you should call undergraduate admissions tomorrow morning

All I can tell you is that I was accepted at the end of January--never expected that because I inquired in the fall and they said that they did not do rolling admissions any more, and that the earliest decisions would be released at the end of March. I was accepted ED to BU, and I never thought to withdraw my application so early on--only accepted the offer from BU in the middle of Jan. A ton of people from my HS applied there. My HS is very large and competitive. One of my good friends was admitted for the spring semester, 2006, and another was rejected. Both are members of national honor society. It seems that sat scores are a big thing there. Mine were mid 1300's. I don't know if this helps. Also if your application was submitted after Dec. 1st, I think that comes into play.

I haven't gotten one yet. ;(

But at least my boxes are frozen finally?

i doubt it's sat scores because i have a 1410, 730 720 710 sat2s and a 32 on my act and i got waitlisted...

ouch, those are my stats. what was your GPA?

YAY! I got my acceptance today! :)

actonian, NU was weird this year. My states were way lower then yours.

LMAO - I was accepted for the Spring 2006 semester class, and have the opportunity to be on the waitlist for the Fall 2005 semester. Riiight. It's all good - it was my last choice!
