Did anyone still not get anything in the mail? If it's not there tomorrow I'm gonna call...

nothing for my S either.

Yeah I still haven’t gotten anything. Getting sort of ridiculous; they’re the only school I have left to hear back from.

Nothing in the mail yesterday. We called on Monday and were told that all letters would be out by today (April 1), which I guess means they can come as late as the end of the week. I noticed on a U of R website, that some people last year did not hear until April 3rd. So I guess we wait.

My daughter received a reject letter today. Disappointed but she has some other great choices.

Nothing yet again today. I’m thinking this is a no. Fortunately, my son is very happy with other acceptances, so like shelley14, he has other great choices. Thanks to everyone who posts. Reading these posts have really helped me and both my kids sort through this process.

S and friends have heard nothing and no changes to logon. Glad he’s not the only one. Things will be complicated if he gets in as UofR definitely has its attractions.

I got in like a month ago, but one of my friends hasn’t heard anything yet either. She’s insanely smart, in a lot of the same classes as me, and a legacy. I’d be SHOCKED if she didn’t get in. Don’t lose hope yet!

My son was waitlisted. He doesn’t care. The tuition is too high and he’s been accepted where he can get a good education for far less money. As a waitlisted student, I doubt he would get any scholarships which he has at all the other schools to which he applied.

My S was waitlisted, which they call “Alternates List” (am I reading this right?). He liked the school quite a bit but not enough to go through the waitlist process. Good luck to all who will be attending. It’s an excellent school.

My S was waitlisted too, and loves the school too.

D received her wait list notification today too. She was pretty surprised not to be admitted but not at all heartbroken. Her GC had suggested that she was a strong candidate for merit money. Maybe she didn’t show enough interest in the school? In any case, she’s been admitted to schools she likes better than U of R so she won’t stay on the Alternate List. Good luck to all who are pursuing it and congratulations to all who got in!

I got the alternate letter too. 3% of the applicants get it? Wow, I feel a bit special even though I wasn’t accepted :P. Anyway, I wish to really attend U. Rochester, and starting in the spring of 2010 is a good backup idea if I don’t get in through the fall 2009 term from the alternate list. Does anyone know the stats of people getting accepted from the alternate list?

I don’t understand how 3% of applicants got waitlisted when it seems like everyone i talk to is an “alternate”

Maybe the people on the alternate list are more active about talking to other applicants?

I hate to bring this topic back up, but I still have not gotten anything. I live in VA about an hour from DC. This seems strange. Is anyone else still in this situation?

Call admissions tomorrow and ask.

I live in VA aswell and just received my acceptance yesterday, I thought the delay in receiving the letter was bad news but luckily I was wrong. You may just have to wait a while if your further down the coast
