My daughter will be in Collins and had a random roommate. When contacted the roommate said she had not applied for Collins. Now all of a sudden there is no roommate listed. We don't know if it'll stay that way or in the next week, she will get one. To be in Collins, do you have to apply like my daughter did or can you just be placed there?
If she doesn't get a roommate, will we get charged for a single?

You won’t be charged for a single, but I can almost guarantee your D will have a roommate assigned to her before move-in day. If not by move-in day, she will have one very soon after that. I don’t know if RPS will place students in Collins without expressed interest in living there.

Thank you for your response. Without a roommate we didn’t see any reason to have the beds unbunked. I wonder if they will be able to have it done on the move-in day.
They will probably end up with two refrigerators and two microwaves.
Oh well.

Your daughter’s preferred roommate should have preferenced Collins as well. I think Collins has a waiting list for first-year students so I doubt they would assign a person there who did not apply.

She didn’t have a preferred roommate. It was to be a random selection.
She is very serious and quiet So I am relieved that only people that would apply to Collins would get placed there.
