I'll have my AA-T in May from CCSF with IGETC approval (3.71 GPA), but I've yet to hear from SFSU. I'm guessing it's because I applied for Psychology which is impacted, but I thought I'd have heard by now.

Same here except I don’t have a 3.7GPA…Is it cumulative? I applied as an accounting major, and have a 3.0 cum. GPA. With such high GPA, why settle for SFSU??

Thanks, no it’s weighted (3.68 cum), but I was told CSU takes the GPA on your IGETC approval (not sure tho). I applied to UC as well, but seriously doubt I’ll get it. I’m happy to get SFSU tho… it’s 10 mins from me.

Movieguy, I am not sure if it is the same for all CSU’s, but SDSU requires a verification of your AA/AS-T by March 15th. If that is the case for SFSU, they might not have received your verification. Call admissions ASAP to make sure you are not missing any documentation.

Yes, I received an email from SFSU requesting transcripts but not the AA-T verification. I only knew to send it bc my transfer counselor instructed me to mail a copy asap. The following week I received an email basically saying “we got all your stuff” then dead air. oh and my status still says incomplete as well

I got an admissions acceptance packet in the mail like a month ago. I was a accepted into my major (Economics), provisionally, of course. My status online days accepted as well.

I live and work in San Jose, so it’s the most convenient (read: cheapest) for me to attend SJSU, so I’ve already committed there (transfer orientation is next month).

I verified at home that I did receive a transfer admissions offer from SFSU on January 30th. I applied in October. Packet came with a letter that reads

It also lists my major (Economics) and my student level (Junior). I have a 3.97 GPA (cumulative). I think everyone should definitely have received a decision by now since the “Steps for New Students” packet sent with the letter states that the first day to accept admission offers is April 1 (2 weeks away) and the deadline to accept admission offers is May 1st (~ only 6 weeks away). If you haven’t received anything in the mail and your online status hasn’t changed, then I would call SFSU to see what the hold is.

EDIT: Since you asked, I applied to UCSC as well, but same issue as SFSU - it ends up being too far from work and would end up costing me a lot more too.

wow, nice GPA:) I’m the same about SFSU… it’s so close and has nearly everything I’m interested in.

I’m hoping it’s taking longer because I applied for Psyc. I read on their ‘how to transfer’ page that it can take as long as April to hear about impacted majors. The dept has to approve applicants.

My backup plan is East Bay but that’s a brutal commute. They have an online Human Development degree though, so I’ll work something out.

Ah, yeah the impaction may be it. Econ isn’t impacted at SFSU, so that may have been why I heard back almost right away. I applied to CSUEB too mainly because I heard it has a nice campus and the fact that it’s a smaller CSU compared to SFSU and SJSU. The commute is a bit much for me to though, of I had decided to go there instead.
I’m sure you’ll be okay for SF. Best of luck to you as well.

If you do end up going there, try to AVOID David Kaun as much as possible…I didn’t like him as a professor. Good thing he is retiring soon, and he would destroy every ounce of your interest in Economics.
