I submitted my Tufts application the last week of December, but still haven't been contact by anyone. On my TAMS it says that the chair committe in my area have been notified that I have applied and asks to wait for 4 weeks.

It haven't been 4 weeks yet, and I'm starting to get worried since Tufts is my first choice.

Should I contact them now? or Should I wait till 4 weeks are over (1 more week to go till that) and then contact them?

I'm an alum interviewer and I often only contact my kids when work and personal life is not as busy -- sometimes it takes me a few weeks, but as long as I get to them before the deadline it's okay. So don't worry.

I want to ask where in TAMS can I see that the representative chair has been constacted? I also submitted my app in the last week of December (I'm an international student), and I'm worried about not getting an interview =/

What does it mean if on TAMS the contact information (including name) of the committee chair isn't there? I submitted during the last week of December as well and haven't been contacted, but I'm worried because I don't have anyone to contact if I don't have an interview in a week.

Hikari: On the TAMS page if you click on Application Credential Checklist, the information should be on the bottom, beneath the checklist. I hope that helps!

I got contacted 10 days ago, after applying on January 1. As said, it might take a while depending on the available interviewers in your area and how many prospective Jumbos they need to contact. Don't give up hope, but it has been 4 weeks now if you're getting nervous.

I still have not been contacted yet. Since it has been more than four weeks, I contacted through email the person it said at the bottom of the TAMS page a little less than a week ago. I have not received a response yet. There is also a phone number to call, should I try that or wait a longer to see if I get a response from my email. I know the Tufts admission people are busy right now, and I don't want to seem as if I am pestering them.

Relax! I applied EDI and after 4 weeks I e-mailed the admissions officer listed at the bottom of my TAMS account. I received an e-mail back two weeks later, and ended up sitting down for my interview a week and a half before my acceptance letter came in the mail. Just be patient.

Interview reports are due by March 3. If you really really REALLY want an interview, now is the time to push it. But.....not everyone gets interviews. There just aren't enough volunteers to complete them.

More importantly, interviews are truly not required. The admissions office gets a good picture of you from your transcripts, your test scores, your essays, and your recommendations. A lot of students are admitted without an interview.

IF you really feel that there is something about you that will come across differently in an interview, try contacting the person again, and make that point. If there's new information that you weren't able to include in your application, mention that as well. But then in the end, if you don't get an interview, try not to let it bother you. Best of luck!

Applicant89: CALL THE PERSON! it is definitely not anyone from the tufts admission office, it is just local. i called mine, and he gave me the number for my interviewer right away. it is a good thing I called, because I got the impression she wasn't going to bother to schedule an interview otherwise!

Seashore: Thanks for the information. All this talk about interviews was starting to get me worried, since I had made the decision to not ask for one!

That's the address within the admissions office but for the alumni interview program. Naturally they're pretty busy right now, but I've had good luck with them answering email.
