Thanks, this wait is excruciating :-(

Is anyone still sitting at ready to review? I have been there since the beginning (end of September) and except for the addition of sat and ap scores, nothing on minerva has changed. . My full high school transcript was posted at the time of application. I have impeccable grades, perfect gpa and valedictorian class ranking. How hard can it be to review my application? Especially since they have had it for over 5 months.

Hello, you should definitely call them or at the very least drop them an email. Ask them politely whether they have everything they need etc and if it’s normal to still be at “ready fir review”. You’ll give them the message without being rude, confrontational or anything which might harm your prospects.

I called them Monday morning…they said at present, my application looked complete and was ready for review. And they had till May 10 to respond, so be patient. Really? I was, however, extremely polite and just stated that I wanted to make sure there was not a problem with my application which could cause a delay in decision making.

did you do the self-reported grades?

No, everything was sent from my high school directly to admissions. I keep reading about international applicants applying in January and already having a decision. Minerva and McGill state that my file is complete, still ready to review, since the end of September.

After emailing McGill today, within 45 minutes my status went to “further review” and I was able to upload the new document requests. They also wanted an explanation of my activities, since I had graduated already. Hopefully I will hear soon. I could have given them everything 6 months ago with my application and transcripts, but they kept telling me not to send anything they did not ask for, and that they had everything!

I’m a grad-school applicant and I wonder when will they get to my file, which is still “Ready for review” even after I uploaded the grades for the Fall semester… I know the deadline to apply is February 1st, I expected the physics department to take about a month to review every file from MS and PhD physics applicants, and a similar duration for Mining & Materials Engineering.

The sad thing is that I already have the decisions from everywhere else I applied to, even know the stipend at all places I was admitted to.

Still at further review a week after uploading requested documentation. Anyone else also apply for a major scholarship? I hope that is my holdup. I applied to DeSautels.

I have also been at Further Review required for about 10 days now after uploading all the necessary documents, how long do they generally take to respond? Do you get a decision for both programs you applied to at the same time?

Good question, cesacap. I’d like to know the answer, too.

the answer to that question is that it could be both. that is, you could either get it at the same time or not at the same time. for me, i got both decisions at the same time but I am from the CEGEP system here in Quebec so there was no need for me to upload much documents as McGill acquires the transcripts straight from the ministry through some software. as a note, i got my decision 2 days after the deadline for applications.

i have, however, heard of many out of province canadians and international students getting accepted first to one program while still being on “pending” status for another choice.
