Still on the wait list?

anybody called yet? any news?

I just called the admission office. They sent out notification today by mail.
They are NOT notifying by phone and people are given two weeks to decide.
I did follow up on my earlier post. This whole process has gotten me all worked up!!!

OMG this waitlist thing is killing me. So will people who didn't get in during the first round be notified as well? (a phone call or letter saying that I didn't get in?)

My friend got off the waitlist today. She's excited... good luck everyone!

how did she find out? The admissions office said they only mailed notification. Does she live near providence?

i found out that i was not accepted in the first round. Apparently those who are like me will not hear back from Brown until mid-late June, when a small number of applicants will likely be accepted. This depends on the number of people who accept/decline the first round of waitlist offers. I also heard that the number of waitlist acceptances is smaller than that of last year, so the chances of being accepted in June is really low :(

Good luck everyone

how are yall hearing already?

Are you on the waitlist? I thought you were going to Dartmouth.

hey JJ04, what school do you go to?
i go to st. george's school, why? do u also live in vancouver?

does anyone know if the admission office will release people's waitlist decision via the phone? this wait really is killing me... lol... so bad that i can't fall asleep at night >"<

@natW: how did you find out you were not accepted the first round??? I'm also wondering if we can ask decisions on the phone. Can't wait any more :((

hey I called today but the only info I got was the decisions were mailed out last Saturday. Seems that they don't give notification via the phone, but i'm not sure... if you are going to call 'em, who would you ask about your status JJ03?

I didn't get the decision in the mail today. Hoping for tomorrow. My only question is if they will tell people who are still sitting in limbo. What if you are still not rejected but haven't been accepted and are second round? Will that person be informed or will they just sit there twiddling their thumbs? (My fear is that I will be that person)

Has anyone, actually, gotten the notification by mail (if not how did you get notified) if you recieved notification by mail where do you live?

my friend got it yesterday, i got it today WOOOHOOOO BROWN '09 *****ES!!!

we live in NY

I hate how slow Texas mail can be. I NEED to find out.

im thinking they really dont even need texans...

yea my friend who got in yesterday got in via mail. she was totally shocked since there was no previous email, phone call...etc but just a big envelope waiting for her at her door

I heard from my College Counselor, who heard from an admissions officer, that those who are still waiting for the second round of admissions from the waiting list(i think that means everyone not accepted now) will not receive any notification until the final decisions in mid-late June. Then they will be notified if they are either accepted or rejected.

Brown totally needs as many Texans as possible. Lauren, I hope it's just a distance thing...obviously we would hear later than people in NY. I wish you the best. I bet those of us who made it off the wait list, down in Texas, won't know for at least another day. Let me know how it goes for you. Wash U is an awesome school though, I have a few friends going there and they are really cool. I imagine that you would be content there, not because I know you or anything but because it just seems like a great school.

Somehow, I doubt texacity is a deciding factor for admission off the waitlist.
