Still on the wait list?

They normally LOVE my school. I mean one of the marshall scholars went to my school. In the current sophomore class there are somewhere between 4 and 6 from my school's class of 100. This year they only accepted one girl who decided to attend Pomona.

So...if you don't get in first waitlist round but still have a chance at the second, they tell you that? Or if you don't get anything are you just supposed to assume..?

what school do you go to laurenemma

St. Stephen's in Austin, TX.

Since I live in Ohio and didn't get any mail today,
I guess that means that I didn't get in....:(

this is what I know: last Sat, Brown mailed out a few decision letters to a few ppl - some acceptances, some denials. Ppl who are waitlisted again will probably receive nothing and have to wait till mid or end of June. I called and knew that I'm one of those. you can call too, doesn't hurt. But make sure the person you ask is admission officers or directors in the Board of Admission. Don't ask admission assistants, they won't tell you 'coz they don't know.

this is what I"m so pessimistic about: there're "less than 50 ppl" accepted on the 1st round. and I don't think there's much chance for 2nd round waitlisters :(((

did any people who live far from providence, as in west coast or south or southwest hear today?

Whoa, so if you don't get anything, you're still in limbo for another few months? That sucks.

No, I didn't hear today. I feel like I'm about to go nuts.

i live in vancouver BC, and haven't heard anything either.

Haven't heard anything in Colorado...

alright. at least those of us who are more than three days worth of mail away from Providence have something to take comfort in. At least I'm going to choose to take comfort in that, lol. As far as Vancouver goes...I dunno. At least you still have hope for the second round, and who knows maybe still for the first?

I didn't hear today either. I just wish the admissions commitee would know how much I need to get in, just to continue the life I lead(it's complicated). I am going to get my College Counselor to call them tomorrow. This waiting is making me sick.

You think getting your cc to call will help lauren? r are u mainly doing it to reap some info?

I spoke to someone in Admissions this morning. The first batch of applicants taken from the waitlist has already been mailed and should have been received. If we haven't heard yet, we're probably not in it. But she said there will be several other batches coming throughout the summer, not just two. At least that's how I understood her.

I live in California and I received my acceptance package yesterday. Though I am not sure if I can attend due to financial reasons.

I am going to have him call to get more info. I don't think I will get any push I just need to know what is going on.

brownsurfer, where u live? what u mean by "as far as vancouver goes, i duno..." it always take at least 5 days for mails to get from providence to my house... at least that was the case for every mails brown has sent me so far.
i just hope i'm right on this one :P

I live in Austin, Texas. I am completely ignorant of the amount of time it takes for something to be mailed from Providence to Vancouver so please forgive my hasty conclusion. If it takes five days then you probably don't need to worry. I wish you the best. I just wish that all of us who really want to go to Brown are able to get off of the wait list.
aidnked, I am sorry to hear that. Though, I hope you are able to go if that's where you want to be and I also really hope to see you next year, he he he he.
