That stinks. My ideal Brown is 100% nice people. :D But anyway, have a great time at Swarthmore! Good luck!

all these rejection letters are scaring me hardcore. good luck to all.

Is it time for the second round already? Definitely, good luck everyone still waiting.

hey my friend is on the waitlist for brown and she really wants to go and i was just wondering if being a legacy had any pull in the waitlist or if it kind of doesnt matter any more at this point

Thanks Rabo, I haven't gotten a rejection letter, yet. So I may still be on the waitlist.
Sariaki- I think the difference legacy plays in has its most prevalent role actually in Early Decision and then Regular Decision. It probably has already been factored into the waitlisting. The only way I see legacy having pull would be if she didn't write that she was a legacy on the application. If for some reason the legacy part was not mentioned then she should definitely tell someone becuase it could be just the edge.

I GOT IN!!!!!!!! LIFE IS SWEET! I wish great luck to all of you still waiting, if any of you are still waiting.

Congratulations, BrownSurfer! I'm elated for you. You seem like an awesome, dedicated person and I'm glad Brown didn't let you down. I hope good new awaits all of you other waitlisters as well!

hey, congrats. mucho congrats.

but golly... brown sure is making me wait... wait... wait. brownsurfer: did you just get your letter today or what? also, did you send in anything after you found out you were waitlisted. danke.

the wait is terrible. everyday, i check the mail and everyday i hear nothing. it's driviing me wacko!

My heart goes out to you, adamo. I'm sending my good luck vibes your way! :)

holy crap, the waitlists are still open

I hate you(not really) brownsurfer because we live in the same town and you just found out you got in. I guess unless I get in tomorrow I am not in.

I am going to call the admissions office tomorrow morning because I have been having mail problems(my passport was sent back because they couldn't deliver it, even though it was the right address). With that clause I am hoping that they would give me some status.

This just puts butterflies in my stomach again. I thought I had gotten rid of them and gone to a depressed mode of assuming I wasn't admitted.

I called admissions today. They said they're still evaluating waitlist applications on a rolling basis and will be until the end of June. So...yeah. More waiting. I still haven't heard anything either.

thank you soooo much liquidpaper!

keep us poster laurenemma.

everytime i try to call brown, they kinda dont want to connect me to a real adcom or someone who knows what they heck they are talking about... just a phone answering person. blarg

adam, apparently I was admitted from the the first round of wait listers and Brown made the mistake of not sending me my notification. Thus, I received an email today notifying me of my acceptance, but I do believe that I am an exception in regards to email. As far as sending things in goes, it depends at what point you consider me accepted. I initially sent in two letters spaced out by about a month. I promised to enroll and told them about some recent accomplishments. After that, I was apparently accepted. But not knowing this, I went on to send them two more letters and I took two people (teacher and summer program director of a business camp) up on their offers to write me rec letters. Best of luck to all! so lauren, this doesn't mean you didn't get in off second round at all since I apparently got in first round. so no worries. you're still in the game. please ask if you have any more questions.

thanks brownsurfer!

i dont want to say one person is right, the other wrong, but if witticism said it's rolling, then why would they tell brownsurfer he was accepted first round. oh well.

Congrats! Good luck to the rest!

Congrats to Brownsurfer!! Do you receive good finaid?? I'm asking for lots of aid, which I'm afraid will be factored in the admission decision. So.. I'm just really concerned about this.

Gluck everyone. waiting... waiting... waiting...

I"m not sure how much aid I got b/c all I have received so far is an email notification of acceptance. I'm supposed to receive my acceptance package in a few days. I'm asking for a lot of aid too so I'll try to let u know how it turns out.

financialaid.brown.edu

go and log in with the id they sent you back many many months ago.

thanks bullmoose. I checked it and it's not great. They didn't waive my non-custodial parent's income who really screws up my aid. I'm going to try to negotiate with them but at this point, out of the 14 schools I applied to, this is the 2nd worst aid package that I received. The first worst was UT Austin. Good luck you patient people. you all deserve Brown.
