I got the step six on mine too, does this mean im in?

Check the A&M online directory. You can find it in the upper right hand corner of the TAMU home page. Then type in your name and search. If you're listed there as classification "U1" (freshman) with major "TEAM" then it seems likely you're being offered a spot on Blinn TEAM.

i applied for waitlist, but not blinn though.

Well, if your name is in the directory as something like GEST U1, then maybe you got in. Otherwise, you're going to have to wait for the letter. My daughter put down wait list or considered for Blinn TEAM and we saw the "A final decision for this application was mailed on 5/21/2008" last evening. This morning we found her listed in the directory as "TEAM U1" so we are crossing our fingers that that means Blinn TEAM.

mine just says "TEAM" under major in the directory....no "u1" is this bad :(

No "U1" in the class column? If not, then I don't know whether that is significant or not.

The reason my sil knew to look in the directory is because they won't assign you a TAMU email address if you've been rejected. Also, it is how many kids found out both about Blinn and a&m this year. They get the changed #6 line, then look up in the directory (apparently a trick for years).

Depending on how slow the mail service is, you'll know definitively in a couple of days, but if you've got an email - that is the best of signs:)

Got the big white envelope from TAMU OAR in the mail today. It was for Blinn Team, which is just fine. Daughter, who last Monday was down in the dumps, is now all fired up; already looking for an apartment and a roommate.

me too, got blinn, stayin at the cambridge

Has anyone else heard from A&M? Still on wait list and nothing has changed on website. Still on #5 - offered waitlist and Blinn Team. Has anyone heard of someone actually getting a rejection letter?

I checked my name in the directory and under class it only has u1. do you know what that means?

I think the U1 means first year of undergraduate. There are Gx numbers (graduate) in the directory too. A friend of mine has U1 and GEST by his name. He is going to summer school in the Gateway program as a freshman and they have placed him in General Studies as his major.

Do you know if u1 means that I got blinn team or that I got into A&M?

U1 is just your year classification by credit hours. I for instance am a U2, a sophomore.

West, if it doesn't say blinn team on your letter you got into a&m.

West,

If there's nothing in the 'Major' column, you'll just have to wait and see what the letter says.

well it has my major too, so i called the admissions department but they said im still on the wait list. i guess ill just have to wait for it in the mail

They said that you were still on the wait list even though you were actually input into the mail directory? I am not in the email directory AND haven't heard anything yet. Your situation sounds more hopeful than mine! My profile is still at #5 (You've been placed on the Wait List and will also be considered for the Blinn TEAM program option). Is your profile still on #5?

Latest from my sil:

Nephew got the big envelope, so all's well with him, BUT his proposed roommate is still on wait list, no word yet.

Another good friend who was 17% had turned down the Blinn offer, but stayed on the A&M waitlist and was denied! Interestingly, she had been accepted to the summer UT program, but doesn't want that, so is heading out of state.

She was told that they took 0 off of the A&M waitlist, but that the Blinn waitlist is still active and should be until mid JUNE!!! They have to wait and see who accepts their spots.

So, Good Luck all who are still waiting!! There's still a chance!!!

The admissions person told that mom that they were inundated with apps this year and had WAY underestimated the number and the yield. They are gearing up for next year to be worse than this.

Well, they reportedly gave full admits to at least two posters in this thread, mel89 and DSL1990. IIRC, both of them said no to Blinn TEAM consideration and both of them just missed automatic admits, which lends credence to your last bit of news. Based on the Blinn TEAM info page, once they start offering Blinn TEAM, they have finished with full admits. Still waiting to hear what west2836 got.

I should have prefaced the post with - Totally take what I post with a grain of salt because the information was obtained from my sister in law, who got it from a mother, who got it from an admissions person. You remember the old game of telephone? News gets distorted.

I'm just passing along information as I hear it to those who might be interested.

I'll go back to the UT thread - Hook Em' Haha JK :)
