Maybe worth an ask ... but SAT and ACT are both gonna be given prior to NAPS ... May, June?

i'm in naps. sorry for they confusion. but i do know a kid who got pulled up from naps a few weeks ago, so who knows?

The last cycle that CGO would consider was the Jan Exams. It is not quite fair for a minimumly efforted candidate to be allowed to continually bolster up his newly discovered weak areas indefinitely in order to replace an up-front well-prepared candidate, is it? Deadlines are deadlines. But ask away. Don't be surprised at the answer though.

Also, I have a suspicion that the perceived definition of "wait list" is continually changing.

Works with the body. Why not the mind.

Asking never hurts. As we've learned here many times. ;)

navy_clarinet,

yeah, I was like that too- I was initially given an offer to NAPS, but that was before the January 2007 SAT test that I had already signed up to take. I decided to take the test anyway, increased what I needed to increase, math, by about one hundred points (560->670) and a few weeks later, I got a call from my Congressman saying that my USNA appointment was in the mail.

"Also, I have a suspicion that the perceived definition of "wait list" is continually changing."

what do you mean by that?

^^^^Not everyone who was offered an appt. to USNA will take it. So, I'm thinking they would start pulling from the wait list. Of, if someone was offered NAPS and didn't take it, then they would go to their wait list.

This is according to our BGO, not my personal take on the situation.

Sealion's son's friend was rejected w/o waitlist or NAPS. He's a big, charming guy, excellent athlete and strong SATs and GPA. Whew...too bad. He may try again next year - he would have been a real asset.
