Still Pending

My status still says file complete, decision pending...should I call and ask about it?

no because mine and others are still pending too… and its not april 1st yet…

Mine is also still pending.

mine also says still pending!!

ya hm…this is a bit ridiculous because everyone else i know has already gotten their response 3 weeks ago…and i know it took them about 4 days to receive their letter from chapman after their status changed online…and they all live in the residing area.

Did all of you get the postcard last week saying to be patient with the admission process?

Mine is still pending so I’m a bit nervous.

@lotsofchoices No I didn’t :/

neither did i…Im not really worried because I don’t plan on going to chapman but all colleges should have sent their responses out by april 1st…

I got a postcard a week ago from Chapman saying that they have received my application that I sent in January…

My son sent his application 1st week of november and he still has ‘decision pending’ on webadvisor. Calls to the admission have not yielded anything other than we are still going through applications. It seems borderline disorganized to not be able to notify at the same time as all the other colleges, and cruel to do it in a piecemeal way so that some people find out in February and others not until after April 1… Anyone have any answers to why this is happening?

I think they just got hit really, really hard this year. With California public schools in turmoil, I’m sure a lot of students decided they had better apply to privates, just in case. It will be interesting to see what the final tally is for apps.
I’m sorry you guys haven’t heard yet. Hopefully they will get them all sorted out soon.

My son also applied last November, and he, too, is still listed as Decision Pending. Chapman is his first choice, and the first school to which he applied. It is the only school he hasn’t heard from yet, and is filling him with anxiety. I agree that it is cruel and appears unprofessional to send out decisions piecemeal, and not to be able to provide students with a clear deadline. For instance, NYU says that their aim was to inform all students by April 1. We heard April 2. Going crazy wondering how much longer Chapman is going to make us wait. But glad to know we are not the only ones left in this position. I was getting worried that his application fell through the cracks. Has anyone heard a definitive deadline as to when all students will be informed?

My daughter auditioned for theatre early action in October and was deferred. Webadvisor still says admission pending along with another theatre class mate. I hope they decide soon commitment deposits are due May 1.

If Chapman has already sent out as many acceptance letters as they’ve appeared to, does anyone know if there are there still slots available for students whose applications they have not yet reviewed?

I will post as soon as he hears.

Has anyone received an admissions decision letter from Chapman in the mail, while WebAdvisor continued to say “pending?” Can we stop running to the mailbox everyday with anticipation (as we have for the last month) if WebAdvisor continues to say “decision pending,” as it still does?

After april 1st, there are really no set deadlines anymore until may 1, but that’s the day we need to turn in our SIRs. Now, all we can do is wait. I called last week and they said that I’d recieve my answer in the mail in the next two weeks. Two weeks time slot? That’s a huge window even for snail mail. Checking the mail and webadvisor everyday gets on my nerves…

Has film parent or jelly heard? My son is still waiting with waning hope.This system of theirs is completely absurd. If Brown with 30,000 applicants can process all responses by a set date why can’t Chapman?

Heard from the admissions counselor for our area. Was told that ds is still being considered, and that they are hoping to make a decision at the end of the week. A most unusual admissions process!

@filmparent

You said you heard from the admissions counselor from your area and they hoped to make decisions by the end of the week. Was this specifically for the film department? My D is still waiting to hear from the Theatre department. I imagine the “arts” take longer to make decisions. There are several kids in our area who have already heard but are majoring in something other than the arts. I’m wondering if I should make a call to admissions or just hang in there a little longer.
