Now, do I still have a strong shot at Cornell Engineering, or is Duke supposed to be easier to get into?

I think you’ll get accepted at Cornell. btw, getting into biomedical engineering at Pratt (if you applied there) is hard as its the second ranked program in the nation. I would assume you applied there because you look like a strong candidate for the school as a whole.

lol at first I thought you were talking about Pratt institute, the one famous for Interior Design and Fashion.

Didn’t understand why you would be applying for engineering there.

Got it now, Duke Engineering is called Pratt.

for a second there, i thought you got into USAMO and only got a 790 on your sat math IIC haha. your chance is good id say.

EDIT:

Haha! i thought he meant the Pratt in brooklyn lol…

I’m hoping for the same thing…

Someone from my school got in ED engineering and just got rejected from Duke today for Pratt. (I guess they didn’t withdraw app?)

Remember, Pratt has a MUCH smaller class size than the Cornell Engineering school does. The Duke student body is half the size of Cornell, and Pratt constitutes about a 1/3 to a 1/4 of the student body. A Cornell Engineering class has about 730 students per year…

on the other hand, can i feel more confident about myself now that I have been accepted into Duke engineering?

^ of course, you should feel more confident :)

No, you should feel less confident?

well i also got into my safety schools…should that make me feel more confident? Obviously not
