you had to have a id number to apply with.

true,IF you can log on Explore USC and can see "congratulation", YOU have been admitted¬¬
Im in!

congrats! you should get you acceptance in a few days!

Didn't someone say that if you haven't heard by March 19th you are rejected? Well, since the 19th is on the weekend... then that means if you haven't heard by today (the 17th)...

so, I've gotten no letters and explore doesnt work for me...should I assume it's over?

tawny, in an effort to be helpful, people post information here, but lots of times it's anecdotal. i believe the post you are referring to was a-friend-who-knew-someone type post. you are not rejected until you get a rejection letter and, as was mentioned earlier, you could even be admitted as a Spring candidate. it's really hard waiting........i'm going crazy.........but don't give up yet :-)

tawny:
My child didn't get acceptance letter from USC until 2nd week of April and was admitted for Fall 2 years ago in Annenberg. Be patient.

No, you should not assume it's over until you get a rejection letter. be patient, they still haven't sent all the acceptances out.

I agree with guidez and beethoven because I know a friend that didn't get accepted until April 8th last year. Personally, my school didn't send my mid-year grades out until a few weeks ago so I don't even know if they finished reviewing my app yet. Just wait it out! Good luck.

By the way, if you get an acceptance letter earlier than April 1st, or by now, does that give you a higher chance of recieving a Merit scholarship? Man, I sure hope so! ;)

lol Pumpkinheads... I don't think it means anything... but I'll stay optimistic cause I sure hope so!

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who's tried logging in to the explore USC site to see if it lets me through! Early April seems like such a long time away. Guidez89 is right- the 19th is a Sunday, but that would be awesome if they did send out letters during this coming week.

Wow I'm out in the blue too...They haven't communicated with me in a while...when I login I get a blank page... I want to hear from them soon, whether I'm rejected or accepted...this suspense is WACK!!

pumpkin, go to UCLA!
/trolling

But in all seriousness, I'm in the same spot that you are in as far as choosing between UCLA and USC. I was admitted to both Undecided L&S and planning on eventually switching my major to chemistry. I'm going to do lots of research as well as go to the Welcome days at both schools to see what feels right. After that is when I will make this tough decision!

Tawny, USC kept on changing my USC ID (I think i had like 3) I couldn't check either. (well then i was reminded of it when i got my packet) I wouldn't worry so much about exploreusc and just wait for the mail...

yah,true. guys
just don't worry about the exploreusc, you will be notified anyway. Be patient..

Keep in mind that many of the people who have been admitted have also been addmitted at several other high ranked schools, and may decline the acceptance at SC (e.g., they get in to Berkeley and their parents love the lower tuition). This process of taken seats coming back open could go on until everyone has to make a final commitment to one school, which is usually ~May 1.

anyone get any acceptances today/yesterday? one of my friends got her letter yesterday, so maybe a new wave is out?

fgnichols: colleges, like usc, can usually predict the "yield" of attendees among acceptees... they are aware that not everyone who is accepted attends, and accept a certain number of people accordingly. there probably is a waitlist, but this isn't the reason people haven't heard back yet.

can you appeal if you are rejected?

no only for ucs
