Still sleeping in the lounge...

Sigh.. It's less than 2 weeks before move-in day and I'm still sleeping in the lounge. Is anyone else in my situation? Or did anyone get transfered to a regular room from a lounge yet? This is getting really frustrating! I should have gone to Santa Barbara...

i was originally rieber hall, then got assigned to hedrick hall south lounge, 5th floor.

almost a week ago, i was transferred to sunset village.

not happy about it though; i didn't want to pay extra for a plaza even if i had to live in a lounge.

Better than not having housing at UCLA at all as was my case. A lounge is far better than commuting.

all that estrogen in one room, i dont envy y'all

Hahaha. I'm also in the lounge situation but I don't think it'll be that bad. The Housing website says we're not to stay there for more than a few weeks right?

wait, what's the lounge situation?

Many of us are being put in temporary housing where we get placed in a lounge with 5 other people until housing spots become available.

haha are u serious? will they put beds in the lounge or something? how about all ur stuff?...i dont get it

How much are they charging you to stay in a lounge???? Did they put locks on the door?

Yes to beds. The lounge will have everything a normal room has like closets and desks. It's 20 by 26 ft as I recall. They are charging roughly 9000 a year with 14 Blue. And obviously they'll have locks on the doors. Don't want crazed chipmunks rummanging through our stuff right?

Yes, this was old news like a couple weeks ago. They're trying to move out as many of these lounge people as possible. Some but not many, doubles became triples because of this.

I believe UCLA has these lounge people staying in the lounge for a few months until they can find more housing spots.

Maybe they'll open something new like how USC opened the Radisson to students when they underestimated housing.

so then i guess we dont have lounges anymore since they are now living spaces?

I feel sorry for you guys (who don't receive fin. aid) paying around 10K to live in the lounge...

i guess this means im for sure gonna get a roommate when my roomie leaves for spain after fall quarter :(..darn....the de neve single was starting to appeal to me heh

Single Room Single Room Single Room Single Room

I think the lounges are pretty spacious...even for six ppl (?) if that's any consolation...

Anyone know how the lounge room move in works? Like do we get an assigned lounge or is it first come first serve? I didn't seem to get anything from UCLA concerning that.

the lounges are pretty big so it will probably feel like a cabin at camp type setup. And im pretty sure its probably assigned lounge...

Look on the bright side: you can get wireless Internet in the lounges.

Hahahahaahah.
