<p>Actually, an easier question is if there is any way to get this deadline extended?</p>

<p>LEDad and ryan2288: Do you have an intended major in mind? BTW, why not start a new thread so people can comment on your specific situation?</p>

<p>Good luck with that, something tells me you might be hardpressed to get an extension with the pressure they are under to fill up a freshman class, but you can always try. Did you know U Chicago was going to be until April 15 (I'm assuming that's when you should hear...) or is it a mistake? Also, have you called the office of admissions at UChiago explaining your situation and asking when you could expect to hear? Wisconsin might be more inclined to be understanding if you have actually done something to try and figure out your situation as opposed to just sitting patiently at the mailbox.</p>

<p>Im a transfer student and Chicago wont get back to me until after May 1st. I didn't realize Madison and Michigan had the May 1st notification deadline when I originally applied. Do you think they will care about this excuse?</p>

<p>ryan: You indicated in the past that you intend to pursue Econ, so I assume Chicago is your first choice (and a superb one!). As far as decision making goes, first decide if you will stay put at AU or transfer to one of your other choices if Chicago turns you down. Since Econ @ Wisc is only a few slot behind and notably cheaper than your other choices, I assume/hope that's your 2nd choice. If that's the case, call Madison and tell them exactly that. I am quite sure the adcom will try to accommodate you. The worst case is turn in the $100 enrollment deposit on 5/1.</p>
