Still Waiting Decision Spring 2012 Transfer!?!?!

Any other transfer students still waiting a decision on spring 2012?

My daughter is hoping for admission to CLAS as a biochem major. 2 of her transcripts were received after the deadline, so I'm sure she is being reviewed toward the end.

How about rejections? Do they come in the same time frame (on a daily basis), or at the end, after all the slots have been filled.

Any input/personal experience appreciated!!

Thanks!!!

Well, you don’t have much time left to wait. They say that decisions will be made by November 15th. My application to CALS was complete back at the end of July and I, along with many others, am still waiting. CLAS has been giving decisions it seems on a rolling basis, whereas CALS has been adamant about November 15th although a FEW acceptances have been handed down (though not many).

Since every other school I applied to has responded well over a month ago, I decided I would not let UF hold me hostage and made my decision to go elsewhere. It says a lot about a school and how much they care about their students when they give decisions in a timely manner so that you can make all the arrangements to move without having to rush. Apparently, CALS does not care to extend that same courtesy which is a huge turnoff to go to school there. Good luck to your daughter!

Thanks Curt, and best wishes to you! Maybe someone from UF/CALS will read and take note of your post!

We still haven’t heard anything. I’m wondering if the online status is updated for a rejection, or if that only comes in the form of a letter. I’m kind of dreading a letter at this point!

Hi there, I applied to CALS in September, with my file complete including all transcripts before the deadline.
My online status still has not changed- it remains “referred to your college…”; today is supposed to be the CALS deadline… Perhaps they will tell students by phone after this date?
I will very likely be going to UCF instead, because I want to change my major and also not have to worry about needing to graduate in four terms (at the soon to be block credit tuition rate as well). UF does not allow either for transfers.

Good luck!

We still haven’t heard anything either! Same status…
" Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Spring 2012 term has been received and is being evaluated. Once your grade point average is calculated and your eligibility is confirmed, your application will be sent to your college for a final decision."

At this point, I’m not sure it ever made it to CLAS! Does your status actually read that your application was referred to your college?

Everyone, please keep us posted!

Yes, it currently reads:
“Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Spring 2012 term has been referred to your college for a final decision. Please refer to the information below to determine whether any additional information is required. If you have sent information to us recently, please allow time for processing.”

As today is the deadline, I attempted to call CALS twice. This time it only rang once or twice and went to voicemail. Perhaps statuses will be updated by midnight??

Still no news!

Tinuviel8, did your status change from “being evaluated” and “will be sent to your college” (like mine does) to it’s current status, or did it always read “has been referred to your college”?

Has anyone else received a status change, letter, or phone call?

Uf told me my application was still with committee this noon, but I just got an email said I got in! You guys may want to contact Ms. Emelie Matthews. I got the answer from her :)

Good luck everybody!

To gzxcy… CONGRATULATIONS!!! Woo Hoo!!!

Which college, and is Ms. Matthews in UF Admissions, or with a particular college?

She is in charge of all admission for College of Arts and Life SCience. I applied for Nutrition major :)

We finally got a status change! It now reads “your application has been referred to your college for a final decision”. Progress!

Some progress at least! I am sitting with the same status, I will let you know when I hear back.
