I was just curious to see how many people here are still on the waitlist at other schools. And if so, would you go if you were accepted?

Today I got a email from Columbia saying that even though I didn't get taken off the waitlist this time around, but I've made it to the NEXT round of waitlisting. And that can drag way into June. Aargh. Even if I did get in, at this point, I don't know if I'd give up UCLA for Columbia. I mean, goodness, I even have a facebook account for ucla now! And a nice scholarship package!

I'm also waitlisted by Princeton, but I've given up 99% hope for that one already considering Princeton just announced that their yield rate reached their targeted number for freshmen class.

that's up to you. i personally think that if you're at the bottom of the waitlist, do you want to be at the bottom of your class? just food for thought. but it's totally up to you

"lol, i doubt waitlist position is a reliable indicator of future performance."

true in that you'll be able to do the work at the school because otherwise they wouldn't have waitlisted you. but my point was that there were many other students who had "better" qualities and scores (as defined by the admissions officers) than you.
