Still waiting for financial aid

When I check oasis for my status it say this:

Application Status
Financial Aid Eligibility - Not Completed
Application for Financial Aid - Your application for financial aid has been reviewed.

Does anybody know what does it mean? There seems to be nothing missing now (I had to fax in a document a couple weeks ago because they emailed me). Does this mean that they haven't reviewed it recently yet?

You're not alone -- I have the same status.

My status is the same. I faxed in the last of my stuff last week. I called them the next day and they said to check Oasis in 7-10 days for updates.

I have the same status also.

Got my financial aid info on oasis today. Probably going to USC this fall!!

Cool. Does the financial aid situation look good?

ya, they were very generous with their university grants.

Two years ago my dad was late in turning in the financial aid registration papers, and I didn't get my info until May 4th. I had already accepted another school, but once I saw how amazing my financial aid package was, I made sure they'd still take me even though I was a few days past deadline, and ditched the other school. :)

That's very encouraging. We were also late this year. Is there any way to get info before May? and do you have any other recommendations?

is usc generally very generous with financial aid to most applicants?

intelliot- I don't know how late my dad turned in the forms, and I don't know how late you turned yours in, so I can't judge when you'll get your package. Hopefully sooner than later. I doubt there is anything you can do to get your info sooner. My only recommendation is that if you really want to go to USC, stick it out and wait for the financial aid package. I don't know if USC is where you really want to go, but if May 1st comes and no fin aid package, you can always do what I did and accept another school. When I fist got my fin aid package, my dad was like "do you want to go here? I can talk to admissions." I, kind of mopingly, was like, "noooo, it's too late, i already accepted another school." I slept on it, and the next morning I realized I did want to go to USC, and I told my dad to see what he could do. So, moral of the story is, if you want to go to USC, you should.

rose- USC is generally known for giving good financial aid packages.

uschicka-i know this is kind of hard to answer, but do u know mayeb around wut the average financial aid is? and bout how much loans are and how much grant they give on average? because a lot of schools give "good financial aid package" but from that package 25-35k of that is loans that still need to be paid back, thanks!

Sorry, I have no clue. Maybe there are stats like this on the fin aid website? As for me, I received a $17000 grant, and then loans and work study.

ohhh ok thanks! thats a pretty good amount of grant! i got $500 grant form berkeley ughh terrible, and 4k grant from ucla, so a 17k grant is hugee compared to that, but thanks so much for the info!

Just saw my fin aid on oasis and I am AMAZED! How on earth does USC do it? The highest grant I got at any other private school was only 3k...USC gave me 24k...WOW...that's all I can say.

My question is...when you've already matriculated, do they screw you over on grants the next year around?

I'm not sure I understand how this all works...
on the oasis financial aid page, is the Total Financial Aid Eligibility amount what USC is offering??

cboryca22 - If you don't mind me asking, what were your stats?
The info's still not up on Oasis for me and I'm getting nervous... need to decide which school to go to >.<

cboryca- wow! Congrats! That is awesome. See, USC is showing you its wonders already. I know that my grant went down the next year, but I don't believe it was that much.

See...that's what I'm worried about because my need could change A LOT. Usually my household income is in the 150k's....but no one in my family had a job...and my stepdad just started his own business so we only made 30k some this year...so...it's probably just a one time deal. Unfortunately.

for the people who got grant money, do u kwno what its based on? (merit or need based)...also what were your EFC's from fafsa, so i can ballpark and estimate what kind of help they'll give me. (i need a lot of money)
