Still waiting for financial aid??

Has anyone else received their package yet??

I take it you’re EA since RD students seem to have gotten finaid along with acceptance. For my son, it was online; so you might log on to check yours.

Definitely check online, I got mine online like two weeks ago

neu’s aid office is most def the slowest ive dealt with… i sent my verification documents on the 25th and they still come up as not reviewed on my financial aid status

yeah does anyone know when they will actually give out the scholarships

I agree - the financial aid office is slow. I emailed my docs, and spoke to the counselor to confirm she received them, and it still took 3 days to have them recorded as “received.” If they don’t come up with a good package, my daughter’s heart is going to be broken. This is so stressful.

I was acceptef EA and received a tentative fin aid package at that time. I was selected for verification and submitted all required docs, but I am still waiting!! I need to put a housing deposit down but can’t without fin aid decision. This is my first choice school but if I don’t hear soon I may need to move on to second choice, I feel like this is so late to be deciding.

lsb312 - you may want to check directly with Housing but at some schools, accepted students can get full refunds if they send in a housing deposit after they are accepted and then decide not to attend - you usually need to notify Housing by a certain date, generally in early May. NEU does have a 5/15 cancellation deadline where you get a full refund - I am just not sure if this applies to incoming freshmen or not?

I’m in the same boat. Accepted EA, no final Financial Aid decision. I’ve gotten FA decisions from all of my schools except Northeastern. Apparently, the NEU FA department is slower than a snail covered in molasses!

i still didn’t recieve my financial aid yet either…they told me that when u recieve it u will get an email, but its been like three weeks already

Sounds like you’re in the same situation as me… I emailed my financial aid counselor yesterday and he or she said that the aid award would be available in a few more business days.

still waiting…

i completely agree lol i got my tentative offer with my EA acceptance letter… and then i sent in some corrections and my verification documents on the 25th of FEBRUARY… since then my counselor said she would review my documents “as soon as possible” every time i emailed her (3 times)

and now its april

is any1 else still waitin on their financial aid awards??? if i dont get 1 in the next couple days ima just enroll at maryland lol NEU is too damn slow

We are also still waiting for our financial aid information. It is starting to stress me out, especially since I’m sure they (NEU) could care less. If we don’t accept a spot, someone else will. It’s all so frustrating.

They usually aren’t this slow… in the past I’ve gotten my awards by mid-march, this year I’m still waiting.

I’m surprised, at least in my experience finaid has always been relatively on top of things.

jv803 it really is frustrating lol im basically making a decision based on which school gives me more money and they are takin forever

Dear nYc91: I am sorry that you’re in this position. As a mother, I can tell you that it is hurting me too as my daughter cannot attend NEU unless the fin aid package comes through and is comparable to her other offers. It is breaking my heart as Northeastern is her first choice. You seem to have the right attitude and I wish you the very best.

well the award finally came today…not only are they slow they are cheap lol parent EFC of 2000 but still 18,000 left in unmet need, and that was WITH my 16,000 deans scholarship

guess NEU is out of the question
