Son got a thin letter today. They want to see his mid year grades (he got honor roll) and he will have to wait with the RD pool of kids to see if he gets in some time in April. He is very happy. Good luck to you all too!

I got waitlisted... sigh... Now I have no chance of going there..

Melsmom what were your son's stats?
Hanjh705 what were your stats?

He's 1050, 2.91, forget his rank (barely top 50.) He wants a specific major that he can't get anywhere else & did upwardBound all 4 years. So he knew going in that it was a long shot & of course now that he's woken up he really wishes he'd done better all along. That shows by him getting honors this term. I think he only got it once before.
Did you hear anything yet Chris2k5?

mine is 3 and 1300, I probably got wait listed because of my bad first quater grade

Melsmom, your son sounds a lot like me. I am also from CT and did not do well my freshman or sophomore years, but i do have an upward trend for all 4 years. So my stats are a 1190/2.65. I got deferred from my top choice which was Bryant, but i got a thin letter, so when i opened it I was ecstatic to see I still had a chance, although it is still a reach.
I had a 2.91 Junior year and a 3.2 this first semester.

He just wrote two letters. One to the admissions head & one to the dept he's interested in's head. Tell them UCONN is your top choice. BTW, his sister also was waitlisted at ELON & she did the same thing. Got in although for a different program, so all is not lost. Hang in there if you're deferred...

I haven't heard anything yet. 3.5 GPA, 1690 SAT and loads of EC's + 3 good recommendations.

I hope I get in. I'd love to have the chance to go to UConn.

i got wait listed today, its my first choice should i send more things in, or will it not make a difference because its not a deferral?

No news is good news chris2k5, hopefully you'll hear something soon!

I just called in.

I was told that decisions for EA are being sent out now until the end of Feb.

sounds like you still have a good shot!

-_- I hate waitlist and I hate uConn now.

My daughter just got her acceptance letter in the mail yesterday - we didn't realize that she applied ED, but I'm assuming she did since she heard back already. We are in MA. Good luck everyone.

Stressed_Mom, Congratulations to your D. If your D applied by the EA (not ED, they don't offer this) deadline her application automatically goes into the EA pool. I'm guessing she had very good stats since they seem to be either waitlisting or deferring many of the applicants that have been notified in the past few weeks.

My son had a complete application by early November and was accepted about a month later.

I wish the best of luck to all those still waiting, or waitlisted. This year has been totally unpredictable and unlike any previous years.

I am an in state resident who applied late December (RD). I have just received my admission in the mailbox. Good luck everyone!

I'm getting annoyed at UConn. My d applied EA, well before the deadline, and never heard anything. Finally, I prodded her to call the admissions office to check on her application status and she found that they'd never received her SAT scores. So she rushed the scores and now she's told that she'll hear in March/April. Now I'm reading that someone who applied RD has already received an acceptance. D's stats are solid: 2100/good but unknown rank and gpa at her competitive private school (over the years everyone who has applied to UConn has been accepted). I have a bad feeling that her school never sent midyear grades out because they think she applied EA and that once again, her application will be deemed incomplete, UConn won't let her know, and she'll wait and wait and won't hear anything.

when do they send out decisions for regular decision

^I'm wondering the same thing.

Regular decisions are "rolling". Who knows what determines how long they take. it might depend on who got the file etc. Or they could put applicants into definite yes, definite no, and maybe categories with the "maybes" taking longer as they await further applications to compare with. My son (oos) got his acceptance quickly (three weeks) in January, which I'm guessing was due to good SAT scores, since UConn is one of the schools that says that test scores are "very important". But it could have just been the luck of the draw on who reviewed his application.
