As I wrote above, my d applied EA. Due to an internal error at the school, her file was treated as incomplete until d called in February to inquire why she hadn't received an EA decision. After that, she received a letter or email saying that yes, her file was complete, and she would receive a decision in late March. She did not get the sense that decisions were made on a rolling basis before that time. I honestly cannot imagine that she wouldn't be admitted to the school (she has high test scores and grades) so if it's really true that decisions are already being released on a rolling basis for regular decision, I'm concerned that the school STILL hasn't corrected its mistake. It would be pretty awful for her application to be sitting in an incomplete pile for the second time!

What's stopping you from calling or emailing UConn admissions and verifying again they have everything? Also, I recall there was a place to check online what they had received. Must have gotten the login name from an email. Anyway, there's no point just worrying about it. Business probably picks up a lot after the deadline for applying, so that her application is just taking longer. If they said late March, that was probably their best estimate in February. It's only March 10, and I'm sure she will be admitted.

I'm just a nervous parent, biting my nails and looking for informal information and feeling very frustrated. My daughter is the one in charge here. I have urged her to check with the school and also with her school counselor to make sure there's no problem with her application.

I do not think she received any sort of login. From what I've read here, I don't think there is a way to check one's status online.

Yeah, I guess I remembered wrong about the login. Other schools have it, which can be reassuring. UConn sent an id number with the acceptance letter.

Just remember: (1) they said they have everything and (2) your d is sure to get in. Soon you will be relieved and happy.

My S does have a login and huskymail due to taking UCONN courses in HS. None of his acceptance stuff (he's deferred) has been sent to his UCONN mailbox. It all comes by snail mail.

If you wan to see if you have a student ID and UConn email go to: UCONN Phone Book and do a search. My son was accepted but hasn't sent in his deposit (waiting on other schools). He did recieve info in the mail regarding his UConn email and Net ID which I believe came a couple of weeks after the acceptance letter. He is OOS and has never taken any UConn classes or programs of any kind.

MIKKSMOM. did you actually interview with UCONN.. S is a junior and I asked about interviews and they said NEVER done.. I am asking because an interview would definately help my kid... average on paper, but according to others, once you meet him, he shines..so an interview is to his advantage..

Uconn does not do interviews for admissions. Fine Arts reviews portfolio's (can be done in person, hence may be considered an "interview" by some) and theater arts probably auditions.
