it appears that cmu might be doing the same thing rochester might be doing with notifying the applicants who have been accepted first and those who have been rejected last :(

Was Carnegie Mellon this slow too?

I’m really hoping they don’t treat their applicants the way they treat the students.

screw rochester, it’s too cold anyway

Seriously? You’re giving up on the school because you have to wait longer?

Not sure if that’s the best idea.

who told you it was cold?
i guess im just used to it, lol.
its not like there is still snow on the ground cough

I’m still waiting too, but I’ve gotten into ucla and northwestern so I don’t think I’ll get rejected by rochester (which I also really like!) so I don’t think the remaining decisions are rejections. but I’m also intl, that may be the reason why I haven’t gotten a mail yet.. dno

Congrats on NW and UCLA…

I have no idea why they are taking forever.

U of R alum here. I remember:
—my little gray Subaru wagon buried up to the top of its doors in snow in Z lot near Phase when I got back from some break. The whole parking lot of cars didn’t move for like 3 days. But that kind of snow was the extreme.
—that it just kind of drizzled a lot, to the point that you didn’t notice it anymore, and when someone from out of town was on campus and said it was raining you were like “oh, I guess it is”

Did you get any snow days during your years there?

So I graduated in 1985, which means you’re asking me to remember back to like ancient Egyptian times. I want to say that just once in my four years we got a snow day.

U of R is very residential, almost everyone lives in campus housing. Mostly we just put on the boots and hats and whatever and trucked to class.

The tunnels were really helpful, I’m sure you know they only connect the academic buildings.

Only one?!

My interviewer said he got none and he graduated in 1989. He told me a story when they got 2 feet of snow in one night!

hehe, ya we usually have a day or two a year where we get a good foot or two in one day.

all of rochester is prepared for winter tho, many fleets of snow plows and you will be swimming in salt

even for high school it is rare to get a snow day, this year i was lucky

We get snow in late March in Seattle :)

Can Rochester match that?

it snowed just a few days ago.
almost all melted now

yea it just snowed, and theres still some on the ground…but that scorching hot 41 degrees and sunny weather is slowly melting it

its up to 43F
i was outside today for a couple of hours in bare feet and a t-shirt.

43F is so nice and warm :)

Although I’m in no position to gripe, I do feel it’s kinda past the “mid-march” notification the website claimed.
