My son is OOS, accepted in mid-December for Fisher business and has received no merit aid to date. I called admissions to see when those determinations would be made and they said by the end of this month. We are scheduled to visit OSU March 1st but are planning to cancel trip if my son does not receive any $ next week. It is very frustrating as I have a junior @ OSU Fisher now who received the national buckeye and provost with similar stats.
@whs2016 - Let’s hope we all get these notices soon. EVERYONE talked about how great OSU is with out of state money when you have the right stats. We kind of counted on it.
@MomMartha Agreed. It was always communicated that the national buckeye was a given. I don’t think that is the case anymore.
Son just received provost award letter today (2/21). In-state, admitted to pre-engineering in November. 1460 SAT, top 5% class, 34 SS ACT. Still no word on honors. We are visiting Purdue for me Monday. I wish OSU communicated in a more consistent manner.
@Cincyboilerflyer - Congrats to your son. Its encouraging to me to here he got accepted in November and just got the letter. I’ll keep hoping.
Thank you. I wanted to post, so others know OSU merit aid is still rolling out. I much prefer Purdue’s method of published notification dates for Early Action (1/15),school-wide merit (1/25) and honors (2/15). Purdue posted a detailed explanation of how they award merit and honors, the date they’ll notify students and their reasoning (spread merit across schools, % school-wide that earn merit, it is most difficult to earn merit in engineering and Computer science, etc.)
Good Luck.
I called today and asked when the next wave of merit offers were going out (specifically National Buckeye/Trustee Scholarships) and was told next batch was being mailed either today or Monday. Good luck to all of us still waiting!!
Received Buckeye and Provost letter today, accepted in Dec. I was just thinking if we didn’t hear about scholarship money before the March 2 planned visit we’d have to cancel as it didn’t make sense to spend all the transportation and hotel $$ if OSU was out of the running financially… Someone from OSU called my child a few weeks ago with questions like where else are you considering, what will your decision be based on, etc.
Still waiting on buckeye. Took accepted student tour yesterday and was awesome ! Fingers crossed .
Received National Buckeye and Trustee today. Letter was dated 2/20. Accepted in November
D (OOS, WA, SAT 1370, 3.9 unweighted) was in the first wave of acceptances and just got the Buckeye and Trustee letter in the snail mail today (Jan 23rd).
Congrats everyone ! Fingers crossed for mail on Monday.
Son - OOS - 35 ACT and 3.87 GPA was accepted in January to engineering. Just got letter on Saturday for Buckeye and Provost scholarships. Still waiting to hear about Honors
Hi, My son did receive a letter on Saturday, February 23rd with the Trustees Scholarship and the National Buckeye Scholarship awards We are very grateful. I’m am sure that many on this board will receive their notification soon as well. Good luck to all who are waiting patiently.
My above post should say Feb 23rd.
For all of you receiving money - do you see that updated in ‘Financial Aid’ section? Does that happen before or after you get the letter?
It has not been updated in Financial Aid section yet. Just received the letter.
For those of you who have attended accepted students day, did they mention when orientation dates would be posted?
I attended accepted students day and it was great. I didn’t hear anything about orientation dates . I just didn’t think to ask . Maybe email admissions.
Has anyone heard when they will send notifications to those awarded the National Buckeye Scholarship only (not with Maximus, Provost or Trustees)?
