I submitted my application to VCU on November 30th and they received all supplemental materials for the application on December 20th. VCU has rolling admissions, but I know several other students who applied after I did and they received their acceptances weeks ago. VCU states that all students will be notified in the order that applications are received and everyone should hear back by April 1st. I know that they have all of the required parts of my application, so missing application pieces should not be an issue. Does such a late response from the school mean that I'm doomed to find a thin envelope containing a denial/waitlisted letter in my mailbox on April 1st?

You know for sure that the they have ALL of the required parts of your application? Two schools lost my D’s recommendation letters, and one enter her information under another student’s name.
If it’s taking this long, call and verify with the school.

I called yesterday and spoke with my admissions counselor who said that she had everything and double checked that she had my correct mailing address and then told me that I would hear a response by April 1st. This waiting game is just killing me!
