Still waiting...

My S is still waiting to hear from Chapman. He called a couple of days ago and asked when the end date is for letters to go, and was told there wasn't one. IF he is accepted, he would love to attend accepted students day, which is 4 weeks away. We would need plane tickets because we live in the southeast. As the date gets closer, the tickets get more expensive, and it appears that the mailing takes a very long time to arrive.

He applied to several other school and has heard (positively) from all but one, which has a release date of April 1st (so we know when we will hear). All of them had a date, and released the results. I have found the Chapman system to be very frustrating. They say they are stilll making decisions, which makes it seem like they randomly evaluate applications instead of looking at the whole group and deciding who is in and who is out, which makes no sense. Either that, or they have decided and are not releasing the infomation. Or, maybe there is another reason I don't understand.

Chapman is my son's first choice. I, on the other hand, have become completely frustrated with the lack of any specific timeline. He keeps checking the portal and checking the portal over and over again. It breaks my heart. Up or down, just let him know.

I am with you on this one. Son applied early action and still hasn’t received a decision.

Hi Colcor1 & momsings. I, too, was very frustrated with Chapman’s notifications. Son’s status changed to decision mailed on 3/8, but the date that was listed was, 3/10. He received his letter yesterday, 3/20. Letter was dated 3/13. So if the website has a decision mailed date, don’t sweat for 10 days or so. I think it takes them a few days to get everything in order before it actually goes out in the post.

My S really likes Chapman, and he’s been accepted at other very fine Universities too. But the wait on this one was tough for him. Hang in there and best of luck.

S got waitlisted. He will be disappointed but I am very happy to let this school go, especially in light of his other acceptances!!

Momsings, how did you find out?

My son’s web portal changed today, finally, so we should know in 10 days or so.

Colcor1–we found out by regular mail. The portal said decision mailed 3/13, and the actual letter was date 3/15, so it does take several days once the portal has changed to decision mailed. I wish you and your son the best–good luck!!
