Still Waiting...

It's officially been a week. Anyone else still waiting for a decision? Cuz i know i am :-/

5 kids from my school heard on saturday. Of those 5 kids I have a higher gpa then 4 of them and I have better classes then probably 3 of them.

One who got in has a sibling who currently attends. So do I.

Another kid who hasn't heard has very good stats. I don't know what the deal is.

At this point I just want to know! Acceptance or Rejection.

But it's most likely a rejection.

still waiting as well here in CT... all of the applicants in my school are

still waiting here in DELAWARE

I've heard, as have 3 of my friends at school...but 2 are still waiting. I'm not sure what the logic is behind the system-- myself and my friend applied honors, but the other 2 who heard did not. One is a child of alumni and one had an art portfolio...so I don't know if there is any more logic to it than just luck of the draw

I haven't heard (by internet or mail) and neither have two of my classmates. We're all the way over here in Maryland, you know, fifty minutes away...

They have to tell us by April 1st, correct?

i believe april 15th is the last legal day

I don't think that's true. I'm pretty sure it's the 1st....in order to give applicants 1 full month before the deposit is due.

generally colleges have till april 15th- after then you can call and request your decision...i dont know if delaware is different and has their own guidelines...but if its true that they're mailing over a ten day period, and they started last monday, the last batch would be going out this friday-meaning they wouldnt be received till after april 1.

i'm in maryland and at least 10 of my friends have found out already :( sorry guys

I called and they said my descision could be here in another 7 to 10 days. ):< I live in Delaware.

woww 7-10 more days. thats a bit comforting, i thought it would be over by now. thanks for the info.

3 have gotten in @ my school (MD), 2 waiting.

still waiting too here in CT.... 2 have heard in my school...

Another 7-10 days? Are you kidding me?

A worried student at my school got in touch with an admissions officer on the phone. This student pretty smart and I think he will get in.

They said although acceptances have been send out it doesn't mean only rejections will be sent out now. They will continue to send both acceptances and rejections.

to the people who said 3 in at my school 2 waiting, and so forth... is there an apparent gap between the accepted students and the still waiting, are the accepted much stronger? my situation is about 5 accepted, 5 still waiting, one of which still waiting is one of the strongest of all 10 applicants.

hmm. good question. i think we are pretty equal actually~ i think the only differnce would be that those who haven't gotten in yet have a bigger list of good EC's but lower stats, and those already accepted have higher stats and a smaller (but still substantial) list of ECs.

have any idea if they inform RD's of honors program in the letteR?

I don't feel comfortable asking my classmates for their GPAs, etc. but my one super-smart friend was accepted (by mail) this past weekend. However, she applied after the Dec. 15 scholarship consideration deadline, so she didn't get any money. Our last names begin with the same letter and we're at the very end of the alphabet. I think it's just completely random.
