but then again, wen u look at my stats, i REALLY wonder how i got into NYU film...

gpa-3.3 uw (SERIOUS DOWNWARD TREND-but there was a reason for it--family issues, and i wrote abt it in an essay); 3.5 w
act-30

-my film essay was REALLY REALLy good. and because of that, i dont understand why i was rejected. like, i mean, REALY good. unless LMU doesnt want ppl like me.....
ecs->lots of good stuff... a lot of it centers around fashion designing, vp of fashion club, etc etc. broadcast media club, work experience... yeah.

oh wells. at least it makes my college decisions easeir...

I heard Kanbar looks almost entirely at your portfolio, and slightly at the other aspects of your application. Basically if you have an outstanding portfolio and it wows them your basically in, they will even swallow an applicant with less than stellar SATs and GPA. I was hoping that would happen with me...but i guess not.

that would make more sense, but hey its their crazy admissions process, who knows what they really look at. I'm proud of my portfolios for both schools also, but I accept the fact that there might be someone who had a way better portfolio than mine.

I'm sure NYU got tons of amazing portfolios. NYU brings so much talent to the table. I'd love to read some applicant's portfolios just to see what they can do. But we should also be proud since we worked hard!

I also got into NYU film and got rejected from LMU film. They said my academic qualifications were not as high as they would have liked, or something like that... I don't remember the letter exactly and I doubt I kept it... and I would have considered going to LMU over NYU had I gotten in. oh well.

Anybody that was accepted can you please scan or post your acceptance letter here. Dont forget to blackout or change your name in the picture or post. Thank You!

This is strange how so many of you guys had to wait so long for an answer for LMU. They sent me a letter about a month after I sent in my application saying they would make their final decision with my semester grades. I had those sent in within a week and I got an acceptance letter about a week and half from sending in my semester grades.

Has anyone had a decision from LMU recently? I'm still waiting to hear - I live in England so the mail will take a lot longer to reach me! I'm going crazy waiting...
