I would give admissions a call, mikei.

Submitted my app. Nov. 15. Received a postcard of confirmation from LMU (app complete) Dec. 19. I received my acceptance letter Feb.28. all of this was snail mail. Nothing via email. Good Luck! Call them!

D was accepted back in November (around Thanksgiving). She never rec'd email acceptance, just snail mail. Application was submitted in October.

Wow! So many helpful posts! Thanks everyone. I will call today after 3:00 (when the snail mail arrives at my house.)

gpa: 3.3 uw; 3.5 w
act-30

gahh. this is annoying. i think i'll call if id ont get anything by tuesday...

this is sadd poo poo.

I didn't receive a letter today. I was fairly disappointed. I have emailed the Admissions office to confirm that my application hasn't been lost and that my letter wasn't lost in the mail. It's also very likely that they're waiting out on me because my GPA is so low. (2.79UW w/ 1930 SATs but very good, in depth letters of rec, very good essay, and good ECs.) I would love to go to LMU!

You should try emailing them, coolrena8. :)

Our son applied 12/2 and they sent a post card 12/12 saying his app. was complete. They said it would be 4 weeks and we still haven't heard. They keep saying "2 weeks" every time we email. I finally spoke to someone 2 weeks ago in admissions (Asst. Dean) and she said he app. had been reviewed 2 times already but since he was "borderline" they would get back to us by 4/1. We'll see! His gpa is 3.5 and 25ACT. If he doesn't get any gift aid he won't be able to attend anyway.

Hrm... So the same thing probably happened to my application. I was pretty sure this would happen before I started my application so I made sure that LMU knew I would attend their school if I got in. For us, if we get rejected, an appeal would be beneficial.

Thank you for the helpful information, SDiegoMom!

I haven't heard a thing! I applied to film. Waiting is the worst.

SDiegoMom--thanks for the input! I basically have the same stats as your son! 3.5GPA and 25ACT...we're probably in the same boat i'm guessing?

good luck!! and thank you!

I'm still waiting too....I'm a business major

i think i got my acceptance in early february. I'm sorry that u guys have to wait so long =/

Yes, it's ridiculous to wait 4 months. They said it was 4 weeks if you are a strong candidate.

my daughter sent in her application at the end of October, so talk about a long wait! she was deferred from Early Notification. she has heard from every school except her top 2 - doesn't it figure? Am worried that the longer we wait, the worse the news, but who knows. I guessed early on that she was probably borderline, so it would be the bitter end, but March 31 is late, and if this goes on until the end of the week, it is going to be hard. We have to make travel plans to see schools!

Hi BayAreaCAMom: That is really crazy! It feels like they wait to see if they will fill their quota with the "scholars" and then offer admission if they have any spots left for the ones below the current average. It's too much money anyway without a scholarship.

They really are making us wait too long. Most schools have sent out by now.

I agree, however, I spoke with admissions last week and they said all letters of acceptance and rejection will be sent out this week so we should have them between Tuesday-Friday. The reason for this being is that Preview day is April 13th for all accepted students. LMU is also closed for Cesar Chavez Day on Monday. Good luck all!

BayAreaCAMom,

My son is in the same situation. It has dragged out too long. He has multiple other schools, and good financial aid packages/scholarship money. It has been disappointing how LMU doesn't update the blog at their website to tell students that they are still even in the process. If we had to travel to this school to check it out, we wouldn't have the time to do it, at this point.

The interesting thing about this situation is that the schools he got into with $ actually had higher stats and were more selective. Go figure.

Best of luck to your daughter. Perhaps today's mail will bring some news?

thanks. guess since it is ceasar chavez day, there is no mail today? will have to wait even longer.....this has been my daughter's first choice school since last year. her stats are right there at their mid point, so there really is no reason she should not get in, but all schools are tough these days. she has gotten into USD and Chapman already. but, I think LMU has gotten very popular lately??? not really sure what is going on, as I thought USD was harder to get into. but these days, with so many applications, who knows what it is on the application that a school likes or dislikes......just really hard to wait this long, then try to juggle the various admitted student events (and figure out travel plans to get there) and have the kids make a decision by May 1. I'm sure it all work out, but this is my oldest, so I am new at this, and I really did not expect to really have to wait until after April 1......

Many have been rejected from LMU, so if they still have not notified you then it could be that they are still seriously considering you. I hope that all students who were accepted to LMU, but have made other choices, will let them know ASAP so that there will be other spots available. Pepperdine takes early applications, but they do not notify ANY applicants until April 1st. At least LMU notified early applicants, early!
