still waiting!?

hang in there MomfromPA..the decision is right around the corner. i'm sure she'll hear soon.

Hopefully, she'll hear soon. It is so frustrating....please tell her to hang in there.

what test scores do you think they are looking for?

I play on a club team that is scheduled for away tournaments during the next 2 test dates so I wasn't planning on taking the SAT again. Should I just send my mid-year grades (4As and 2Bs) and updated resume that shows addtl ECs - practice 3 nights/wk & working 20hrs/wk since Oct so I can afford college since bright futures may go away for 2009?

presuming i get in

it is frustrating to say the least...My D has heard back from almost all her schools already but for some reason while others are getting rapid responses from UCF she is just lingering on...She applied in October but I guess things were slow getting there. She has been patient about it and just wants to know either way at this point. I dont know what scores they r looking for nomoreyears but I haven seen anyone get in with scores as low as my D;s she only got a 1040/1560..From what I have seen so far they are looking for 1100+? dunno...but good luck to you too

she only got a 1040/1560..From what I have seen so far they are looking for 1100+? dunno

D got a 1030/1610 with a weighted 3.5 GPA and got in for summer. She is planning to attend unless she gets accepted to Hofstra which originally deferred her. UCF is a much cheaper choice for us though and a beautiful campus, in a different way. Did she apply for summer or fall? Sometimes they offer the summer option instead of deferral so either way may be a possibility for her.

alongwait she applied for fall..I dont think she would want to do summer as she has a job and wants to work this summer a lot to save some money for the school year plus she wants to spend the time with her friends before she goes away. Have you been to Hofstra yet? I was there last weekend its a nice school but I think seriously if you have the choice between your D going there and UCF you would have to be crazy not to take advantage of the tuition at UCF..Hostra is IMHO just NOT worth the tuition. The admissions rep said she didnt have the final numbers but to expect the tuition to be somewhere around 35K plus 10K+ for room and board. There is no way in hell Hofstra is worth that price tag unless you are getting some aid which my D apparently isnt getting anything..so that being said consider your D very fortunate she is in at a good school and can save LOTS of $$$ and consider going to UCF! just my opinion anyway...

thank you. i have the same opinion. i would have no problem with her going there if not for the $$. we are UCF locals and she sees going away more appealing which i understand, but not $45k worth of understanding. no aid for her either. sit tight. i think you will have your answer within the next week or so for UCF. once they had everything it was a short turn around for her.
