Stokes Scholarship

Hi guys,

So I heard about this Stokes Scholarship (for electrical engineers/computer sciency people), and it seems pretty good that they pay FULL tuition AND additional salary during college, and also give you summer internship experience at the NSA, but then you have to work there for 6 years... If I can get into one of HYPSM with say around $15,000 Financial Aid a year without this scholarship, do you guys think I should apply to it? Like is it prestigious at all/worth 6 years (what if I get stuck with a crummy job that doesn't pay well)? And I'm Asian female........ so I'm not exactly minority (scholarship targets minority students) XD
Please please reply soon, the deadline is Nov. 15 and if it is actually a really good opportunity, I want to make sure I don't miss it!!
Thanks!! :)

Honestly guys… wow… 124 views and no one decided to comment…

My guess would be none of the 124 is familiar with this scholarship. I’m not.

windoffreedom, I only know a little about this. And yes, you are female, and you are minority. It is a very good opportunity, and includes the sumer work experience. It does require a certian amount of work for NSA after you complete your degree. As for “crummy paying” job…it is only a few years, Gov’t pays pretty well, and it will give you the experience you need to move on to private industry if you choose to do so.
