Stoneleigh Burnham and Westover

Hi I am considering applying rolling to both of these schools, does anyone have experience with them. I don't have amazinggg grades, A's and B's, but I am very smart. I also play 4 sports and am member of many clubs. I am currently in 9th grade but I would be willing to repeat the year. I REALLY want to go and am very persistent and strong willed. (I am also very interested in the riding program at SBS). How hard are both of these schools to get into? and do either recruit for sports or arts?

Also does anyone know about these school financial aid programs. My family makes a fair amount, but could not afford the 44k and 40k of both of these schools. We could contribute about 20-25. Thanks!

Both are good schools. But as far as riding is concerned, have you looked at Ethel Walker? They have a nationally renowned equestrian program (Julie Welles '06) Just a thought if you were looking at schools for riding…

Boarding school is expensive; riding at boarding school is very expensive. You may want to, with your parents, take a close look at the financial expectations associated with boarding school. A family that makes a fair amount is going to be expected to pay a good deal more then $25,000.

Hi, PM me if you want some extensive info about Stoneleigh-Burnham, I attended fot wo years and rode there and loved it…I could spend so long talking about that it would be a really long post, so I prefer PM’s. The riding there is great. Other schools with good riding are Ethel Walker and Dana Hall. If you’re at all interested in the interscholastic riding team, at Zones last weekend Stoneleigh was third and qualified for Nationals (beating out both Ethel Walker and Dana Hall for one of the top four spots in the zone).
