Hi, ok so im kinda stressing about college. I think every thing but my low SAT is fine. I have an unweighted gpa of 94 and an SAT score of 1430 out of 2400. I know thats low please dont judge. Im not stupid, I got a 1600 on my PSAT so I dont know what happened. I never studied for it because i wanted to know how much to improve (I guess a lot). Im also going to take it at least 2 more times and the ACT three times. Im ‘well-rounded’ too. I have been in honors english, spanish and social studies since 9th grade and have been recommened for AP but I cant handle stress so I declined. Im in AP music theory but regulars math and science. Im first chair violinist in school orchestra, ensemble, and symphonic orchestra. Im 6th chair in a private orchestra (Gemini youth orchestra- philharmonia. We’ve played at Adelphi, Le Frak, Lincoln center, ect.) Also all my NYSSMA (New York Suffolk something Music Association) grades have 90 or above since 4th grade (Its a music preformance test) I’ve been in girl scouts since I was a daisy. Currently doing my gold award project. And I work at the local public library. I have mastery in all my regents and im going to get an advanced regents deploma. My class rank is 55. My goals: getting a 95 unweighted average and 50 class rank. I live in New York (like I mentioned) I plan on applying to all Suny schools and some private but I really want to get accepted to Stony Brook or Binghamton. Based on what I have told you what do you think my chances are to go undecided? What is a good SAT score out of 2400 to get in? And whats an SAT score I would need to take honors classes? Thanks so much everyone!
You should try College of the Holy Cross, too…
Stony Brook: Aim for 24+/1700+
Binghamton: Aim for 26+/1800+
Your rank of 55 does not mean anything without knowing the number of students in the class.
Oh im 55 out of 360. Also, I dont know if this helps but im white and female, will be getting financial aid, im in national honor society, tri-m, and foreign language society, and in 9th and 10th i helped 2 different girl scout troops every week for 2 hours each
