Has anyone been accepted to Stony brook yet?
No, Have you?
did anyone recieve the portol information for checking status? If yes how long beore you recvd that email
I GOT ACCEPTED TO STONY BROOK TODAY!!! I thought I’d be hearing back like March so I was shocked when I received the email saying to check my portal for my admission decision!!!
woww!! thats great congratulations @blue1230… can we ask your stats and major… when did you apply?
I applied mid-October to the Health Science major. My stats aren’t impressive lol which is why I was so surprised when I found out I was accepted. I have a 3.58 unweighted gpa with an 1140 SAT score, which is super low if you look at the stats of most of the students applying. I took 6 AP and 3 Honors over the 4 yrs. I also had over a 1000 hours of volunteering service that were consecutive for the four years to show I am dedicated and stick to the cause, which I think really made a difference.
thats good stats @blue1230… instate or out… is this your first choice and scholorships?
Out of state and this is my second choice! I haven’t received my financial aid package yet.
I got my decision this morning! I applied early to mid November as a Human Evoluntiary Biology major. ACCEPTED!
I also got in a few days ago, so if you applied you may want to check your status.
anyone know the dates for decisions to come out or are they going to be dripping down a few a day or so…?hope not…
applied early and waiting…!!
Applied January 1st, result came out today. I’m in!!
@xilipro123 congratulations…!! what major and stats please!!
1320 SAT ,3.7 weighted , economics
I applied on Jan 12… Approx when will i get the decision?
Also with following stats am i likely to get acceptance
SAT 1450
Weighted GPA 4.2
International Student
Computer Science
Still waiting for my decision. Applied in late December.
GPA: A steady 94 (approximately) throughout my four years.
ACT: 27, with college readiness in every section, including STEM and ELA
Extracurriculars: School basketball team (9th-12th), National Honor Society (12th; in my school you have to be in 11th to apply and NHS membership is during senior year)
My personal statement (essay) focuses on exceptional circumstances.
What are my chances?
Also, I have taken 4 years of math and science (my school requires 3 of each) through physics and Calc 1.
I have also taken 4 required years of English and Social Studies. No AP or honors courses other than calculus, but only because my school has fairly stringent requirements for these courses; you need to have a certain average in a class AND be recommended by your teacher.
@Seawolf22 what major?
