So to my understanding, the addition of new tabs on the Stony Brook Solar site is an indication of whether or not a student gets in. But in my case, my Financial Services tab has disappeared. I’m assuming that I didn’t get in :(. Maybe @sbuadmissions could chime in on this too?
I’m pretty sure this is standard. They’re still waiting on one of my items and mine disappeared as well. I don’t think you have any reason to worry, but I’m sure someone else has a better explanation than I do.
This is complete conjecture, but I believe your financial tab may come off once they process your application, whether that means that the common app has been processed, or whether they have your materials. I think around now is when they begin the transfer admission process, so that could be a sign. I saw that someone else said this as well somewhere.

If you’re curious, Stony Brook had just received my final materials, and once they were received, it seems that tab was taken down. I highly doubt it has anything to do with admissions as its very early for transfers, and as I said, all my materials were just delivered.
I wouldn’t let it worry you. To me, it just seems to be a little idiosyncrasy in solar.
If anything, it might just be a sign that your application was completed and is awaiting review.
I appreciate that. Its just that my GC said they were waiting for MIDYEAR grades and mine have not been sent yet but my solar page FA disappeared yesterday. But thanks.
Well if everyone’s (mine too) disappeared yesterday, then it seems especially likely that it isn’t something to worry about. Right? Are you a transfer?

Hello. My solar page just changed as well. I am not sure when exactly it changed but I did notice the Financial Aid is gone. Did anyone find out what this means? If so can you please post. Thank you.
On the top of my Solar Page go to Main Menu > Self Service > Student Admission > Application Status and then when you click on the Application Status it says:
APPLICATION STATUS:
Congratulations! You’ve been admitted to Stony Brook University. You will receive your letter of admission within the next two weeks, providing you with details regarding your acceptance. In the meantime, please visit our Admitted Student Website for a list of the steps you need to take to enroll at Stony Brook University.
Offers of financial aid and decisions regarding honors programs will be sent in separate communications beginning in mid-March.
In the coming weeks, students admitted as freshmen will receive an invitation to Inside Stony Brook, our private social network for admitted students. You’ll have the opportunity to meet other students who share your academic and extracurricular interests, participate in group chats, and receive important announcements right on your smartphone.

My son did on Friday his portal tabs changed and the application status changed on Sunday morning to accepted. AOI Computer Science
