Stony Brook Spring 2018 Acceptances

Hey,

So recently my Stony Brook portal changed to an extra 4 different tabs. At first there were just two tabs with “security and personal data” and “Student admission”. Now there’s “for new students”, “Students records & registration”, etc. All these extra tabs leads me to think that I got in. But when I get my application status, it says
“Thank you for applying to Stony Brook University. Your application is currently being processed. We will contact you if we are missing any items needed to render a decision.”

What does this even mean?!! I deadass check the portal like 10x’s a day. Someone please help :"(

Most likely there was just an update to the portal, but hey who knows?

It sounds like they got your application and will let you know if the application is missing anything. Not an acceptance.

@arudelic You really think it was just an update? There goes my hope :’(

@happy1 That’s what I was thinking at first. But there’s also this option of depositing in the portal. Like, why ask me for deposit if I didn’t get in… right? I’m seriously losing my mind

If you went over some older post, you will see that those who claimed they got these new tabs eventually received the acceptance letter :D. I applied SBU back in highschool and never see any of those as I was wait-listed (and rejected at the end). Just matter of time, Good luck!

If it is unclear then contact admissions and ask.

I found the same thing on my portal. I guess we’ll just have to wait until the 1st to see!

@Alpha18 Your comment just gave me some hope. I really hope I get in :’(

@happy1 I was thinking about that but I don’t want to risk anything

@Spdomx Really?! I hope we both get in! Lmk when your status changes though

Check your application status!!

@Alpha18 @Spdomx AYYYYYYY CONGRATZ GUYS!! I got accepted too!!

WOO HOO!

Chris

When did you apply? If you don’t mind me asking, what were your details? I’m applying soon and REALLY WANT TO GET IN.

@evergreen296 Are you applying for the fall semester or the spring semester? Because I know for sure that the spring application deadline was nov. 1. I applied late August so probably around 2 1/2 months early for the spring. And as for gpa and stuff. My gpa honestly wasn’t good but there was a huge increase in gpa from first semester to second semester so probably they saw that. For major, I put undeclared. I hope you get in!
