@MisBee, @groovebaby123 and others - How much is the presidential scholarship for in-state? What is the dollar amount per year? Is it full tuition?
My in state son got 4K per year, and another 3K per year for national merit.

Is there any additional merit for accepted honors students?
Did you apply for BS MD as well ? Did you hear back from them about it ?
If we didn’t hear back yet, does that mean we got rejected?
Specialized high school? Any update?
Thanks @rmulvane and @Misbee - Until last year, it was full tution for Presidential Scholarship at Stony Brook. This looks like a change for this year (unless someone confirms more scholarship amount for Presidential Scholarship here!)
Merit aid is cut in half - though we should not complain since it is highly subsidized by NY state anyway!

Did anyone who applied for Scholars for Medicine BS/MD hear back about any of the honors programs?
I have not heard from anyone yet in the main bs/md thread. Not sure what’s happening with SBU.
@AffByCOVID , my kid got the Presidential but it was only for $10k, not full tuition.
It is truly a bargain! Some of the schools my son is looking at are $60k a year just in tuition!
Looks like you (@amominnewjersey) Out of State for NY so $10k but @ttb1263 (also OOS) got $16k mentioned on this thread… Does Stony Brook provide different dollar amount to different presidential scholars?

I guess so. Seem like schools changed the amount of merit they give out to high stat students. Even Temple gives my D less compare to what they would give for students with similar stats in the past.
Its also good to know that your bill will not go up that much each year…most likely only for room and board increases…

Hi everybody! New commenter here. I applied to SBU for business on 12/20, and my application has been “under review” for a month now. Reading through this thread, I haven’t seen anything about business majors, so I was wondering if anyone got accepted for business. Please let me know cause this wait is annoying :((
