Well, I’ve been seeing and hearing people already getting acceptances from Stony Brook. CONGRATULATIONS IF YOU WERE ACCEPTED!!!
I still haven’t heard anything yet besides the fact that I didn’t qualify for EOP. My status on SOLAR still says that my “application is currently being processed.” I’m feeling really anxious and nervous. I don’t know what to accept and I’m absolutely freaking out. Stony Brook is my dream college and if I get accepted, I would die of happiness.
Anyways, please feel free to share your admission decision to Stony Brook on here. And if you guys don’t mind, please also post your stats so the folks that are waiting to hear back from Stony Brook know the gist of the application pool.
I hope we all hear back with exciting and satisfying decisions! :+)

@connetquotreppin Dude, I feel you. The wait is killing me now that descions are already coming out. But thank you so much! I hope you get accepted! Keep me updated.
@njnetsbently Hmmm, that’s a good question. I think when we get our descions, there might be a tab regarding financial aid. If not that, I think by April 01 when all the desicions are made as well as when the FAFSA is completed (which I have yet to complete.)
@orcathekilleR Omg congratulations pal!!! I’m so happy for you. When and how did you get your acceptance?
I got it on Monday. I happened to check the portal in the middle of my Spanish class and was pleasantly surprised to see ny acceptance posted. I got an email from then a week later.
My friend has been bugging me with his decision - it seems like only half the applicants heard back in our high school.
@icanflycheer Holy moly, CONGRATS FRIEND!!! I’m so glad you got in. Do you mind telling us your stats and how/when you got your acceptance?
@orcathekilleR That must have been such a surprise - I would have had a heart attack lol. Once again, congrats!!! And I know how your friend feels like. I’m really nervous because I still haven’t heard anything and I’m slowly going insane. Then again, the deadline to apply still hasn’t passed.
Congrats guys. Will do @LOLHELPME. Patience is a virtue
@orcathekilleR @icanflycheer When did you guys apply? I want to determine if submission date has any bearing on acceptance decisions. Thanks in advance
@connetquotreppin it doesnt matter when you applied. i applied in oct and still didnt hear back yet while other kids in my school applied in December and they heard back
I thought they start to review the applications after Jan 15. O_O. People have started getting their acceptances? Is this for undergrad Fall 2015 admissions? I didn’t know Stony had a rolling admissions or else I would have applied earlier. It’s not fair since they don’t state on their website it’s rolling admissions(? or is it?) so people have got their responses while other wait till Jan 15 to apply, thinking they will have the same chance as someone who applied in October.
@akean111 Well, according to another thread, Chris from SBU Admissions said that only less than 10% of the acceptance decisions came out already. But I’m hearing of more acceptances which is awesome but it’s making me wonder, HMMM DID THEY EVEN GET MY APPLICATION OR AM I UNWORTHY lol. And yeah, I believe Stony Brook has rolling admissions but their priority deadline is January 15 for the entry term of Fall 2015 (according to their website.) Also, you’re right - Stony Brook does not have options for early action or early decision.
