Yes, it’s late, but we’re not done with transfer admissions yet. Make sure your transcripts get to us ASAP.

Thanks for answering back. Hey, I have sent in my official college transcript today they will probably receive it whitin the next few days. What do you think my chances of getting in are? & by when will I get a response? I’m just really excited with the thought that I could be going to SBU this fall.
Hard to say, honestly. We still have a little way to go with transfer admits, but as long as everything is in soon, you’ll get a full review.

Im feeing so anxious stony brook hasnt updated a mid may update and its already the 20th anyone know how much space they have left?
@jussme7790 I’m curious to know as well. I’ve heard a lot of people that got accepted to SBU, have committed to other schools. So I guess that should clear up some space
Hey guys, OP here. It’s so funny to read this seven months later and think “Wow, I created a forum about my dream school and here I am, not going to attend it even though I swore I was.”
Anyways, I just wanted to wish everyone good luck at their new colleges and universities! I hope you guys kick butt, have the time of your lives, and make yourselves proud.

@baekmeacak13 Hey man.
Well, the fact that I literally had similar stats as you and I got in for the 2014-2015 academic year gives a great possibility that you’ll get into Stony Brook as well. So don’t worry too much. Then again, improving on your ACT won’t hurt at all since it’ll just strengthen your application. Also, make sure you have a good Common App essay and great letter of reccomendations.
I’ll be happy to answer any other questions you might have/give any more advice. Good luck with your college app process!
Can you guys chance me pls

Hi - when can we expect the Stonybrook decisions to be out? I applied back in October
April 1 is our notification date; all decisions will be out by then.
Chris
Thank you very much @sbuadmissions !
@sbuadmissions I know you had written this a year ago, but is the notification date still April 1st? I have applied for the Basic Nursing Program for Fall 2016 and have yet to hear back anything other than Solar confirming my application and documents. Would you know when final decisions are released? I’ve been on my toes since I submitted all my materials in late December.
My family moved to Florida in January. I have decided to stay in New York in hopes that my first choice school (Stony Brook, of course) accepts me
Nursing’s kind of its own bag – are you a freshman, or a transfer applying directly to the School of Nursing?
Chris
@sbuadmissions Hey, how reputable is the business school? I plan on transferring from SCCC into the Business Management major. I know SBU is a science school, but I heard the business program is expanding. Can you please elaborate on this? Thanks so much!!
Great question, actually. We have a thriving College of Business that has undergone a LOT of changes the past few years. It’s actually a pretty large program, with a lot of undergraduate options and a five-year MBA as well. It’s in the middle of an accreditation project, which will help graduates as well; they’ve really come a long way in the past several years.

@sbuadmissions I am actually a current SBU student for PSY. I have applied to SB’s nursing program and for a college in Florida where the majority of my family has moved to. I have been accepted to the Florida program, but been waiting on hearing back from SB before making any moves as SB is where I’d love to be. I even have two excellent job offers in limbo because the one I’ll accept depends on if SB accepts me!
As you can imagine, I was very disheartened when April 1st came, but no decision Any ideas when they will be out? Or does the fact I have yet to receive an answer one in itself?
The School of Nursing doesn’t have the same admissions procedures as we do. I don’t know when their decisions come out; you’d have to contact them directly.
Chris
@sbuadmissions thanks for your reply. Also, is there any way I can transfer into the 5 year MBA program, or is that strictly for students out of highschool?
