Congrats!!! I too was accepted!
@sciencelover123 when did you apply? i applied early dec and nothing yet… ):
I applied in Dec and was accepted about 2 weeks ago. Really excited as stony brook is one of my top choices!
Any of you applying to the Honors College, if so post ya stats so we can help you out… :bz
If we applied to Honors College, do our decision for general admission come in later? I applied Dec 30, and haven’t heard anything back while my friends are getting their decisions already.
@LOLHELPME No, I haven’t heard anything yet sadly. Hopefully soon though!
Is anyone here who are still waiting have a 2000+ SAT?
Accepted as of Feb 16! ((Applied all the way back in november))
@snoogleki Didn’t take the SAT but I have a 31 ACT. Think that’s like a bit higher than a 2000 SAT if I’m not mistaken. Oh and I haven’t heard back yet. My friend already heard back but he got denied so don’t think that they’re only admitting anymore.

@Herculeum NO WAY. How are you denied!??? Is your SAT from one sitting or? and what major did you apply to?
If you applied to Honors College your decision does not come at a later time. I applied to the Honors College and I submitted all of my stuff on January 14th, I received an acceptance letter on the 23rd.
@Lalalalalax
I also applied to the Honors College…
My timeline for acceptance is similar to yours I finished my application on January 15th and I got a decision by Jan 24th?I think they accept the most qualified first…
*What are your stats Also?? And why are you interested, you think its as good as like NYU or something? :bz
@lifeishard I don’t think they accepted the most qualified first. Maybe it’s just me cushioning my ego but I saw numerous kids with sub 2000 SAT / 30 ACT and sub 3.5 UWGPA’s who got in and I still have yet to receive a decision.
@Snoogleki Two sittings but both got around the same score, and I applied for English. I’m not too sure
@AlbertCollege I think lifeishard is talking about the honors college in specific, but I agree that there is quite a bit of variance in accepting applicants with people with below average sat scores and gpa for stony. Still they are easily inclined accept if the applicants are far above average, which is what I’ve seen for a lot of January until now
For those who are accepted: I JUST HAD A “Campus Financial Services” ADDED TO MY HOME PAGE.
Did you guys have it? Or do they add it on everyone’s homepage or just the ones accepted?
@snoogleki I got that too. I’m not sure it really means anything as I read some transfer applicant got one added to their solar and sbu hasn’t started reviewing transfer applicants yet.
@AlbertCollege
@bruce0987
I agree with you guys, yes they do accept people below average like even 1800 SAT students but that’s there for almost any college… Yea I was talking about the Honors College which I hear is really dang selective… 60/2700 I hear out of the freshman… Basically top 2-3% of the incoming class which is sick almost like an Ivy level…If not… Also, quite affordable and I have friends who did go to Stony for Undergrad and winded up at John Hopkins Medical School… (35 MCAT and high GPA)… So yea I really hope I get in that…
*This is the response I got from CC’s StonyBrook Team"
“Congrats! All the honors and scholarship stuff comes later. We’re working on that now, and the decisions typically come out next month.” -(For the Honors College)
Chris
@lifeishard 35 mcat into hopkins? He must have cured cancer or saved Africa from Ebola to get in with that.
