I am a junior in High School and I'm interested in the medical field. I looked into bs/md programs but I highly doubt i could get into any. Looking at the traditional route, is Stony Brook a reputable University in the medical industry? Also, if I were to apply do I have to indicate that I want to be "pre-med?" Is there a different application for this faction in the University? Also, do i have a chance of getting into this?

I’m from NY originally, so I’ve had a few family members go to Stony Brook. . . Not sure if it’s one of the best schools for Pre-Med out there, but not the worst. It’s hard to predict chances for people earlier in high school but you should have absolutely no problem getting in. You may have to indicate Pre-Med on your application, but maybe not. Depends on the school.
Would you chance me back? :D

Thanks sounds good! Do you know any other achievable Pre-Med programs for me? and yeah np

Actually, pre-med is something we do pretty well; having a world-class research hospital on campus goes a long way there!

You’re correct in saying that the combined programs are difficult to get into, but the Scholars for Medicine program here just a very small piece of the overall pre-med cohort on campus. You’ll find some details about the pre-med stuff here: [Stony Brook University - Pre-Health Advising Center](<a href=“Pre-Health Advising | Stony Brook University”>Pre-Health Advising | Stony Brook University)
