Which School is better for Physical therapy, Stony Brook or Geneseo?

Stony Brook has a very good pre-health program and a graduate DPT program. But geneseo may be a better fit for some people because of the smaller class sizes and more “collegey” atmosphere (Stony Brook tends to be a commuter school). There are many pre-health student at geneseo so you won’t be alone. It comes down to personal preference.

I know multiple people at Stony Brook for physical therapy, but for grad school. The two schools have a really different feel. Geneseo is isolated and small and very collegiate. Everyone stays on campus because there’s nowhere really else to go, which leads to a pretty strong community feel. Stony Brook is in the middle of Long Island and has a lot of commuters. There’s people traveling to the city and all over LI.

Stony brook is a great school but I agree Geneseo definitely has a different feel. Living on Long Island we looked at Stony Brook as a viable option. But when it came to where my daughter wanted to spend 4 years of her life Geneseo was her first choice and never regretted it. There are several benefits to attending a small town college. The most important is that it almost forces you to become more involved and engaged on campus which only adds more value to your collegiate experience.

Stony brook would definitely be the place to go, especially regarding campus environment
