Stonybrook

When do they send out letters for interviews regarding the Scholars in Med?

Right now. Literally. Today.

did anyone get letters for honors college yet?
i still didnt get that...and i think to be considered for scholars for medicine you have to be accepted to honors college first...

No, it comes in one letter. The first part tells you whether or not you made it into the Honors College; the second part tells you whether or not you made it into the Scholars for Medicine.

do they send the scholar in med rejection letters around the same time as well?

Its the same thing...

idk sphybrid, i got accepted to the honors college today and it didn't mention anything about the scholars in med

Read the last sentence of your first paragraph, that's where my notification was.

I got accepted Honors College today and received a long letter. In the second paragraph, it highlines "You will be pleased to know that we have also forwarded your application to be a Scholar for Medicine to the Medical School Admission Committee. Your will learn the results of their deliberations in approximately on month."

.....

"In addition, your will soon receive your scholarship letter from Barbara Fletcher, Director of Undergraduate Scholarships, informing you about our scholarship offer."

It is sweet for me today and Stony Brook is my #1 choice for BA/MD.

hmm , anyone else not get notified yet? im from upstate NY but havnt gotten anyhting from the honors college yet. guessing tht a rejection.

i havent gotten anything back from honors college either...all i got was the presidential scholarship in the beginning of march....does this mean i got rejected from stony brook honors college???
If I was...I dont want to sound arrogant but I am kind of surprised...

I just realize that Stony Brook almost automatically gives all incoming freshmen of National Merit Finalists this year the full tuition, all fees, room and meals for four years.

This is their website link:

"Stony Brook University, one of the nation’s top three public research universities, is proud to offer generous four-year scholarship to this year’s National Merit Semifinaliests. Those with an un-weighted high school average of 92 or higher will be considered for scholarships which include tuition (in-state or out-of-state), the comprehensive fee, and standard room and meal plan for all four years as an incoming freshman at Stony Brook University for the fall semester."

I have not got a reply either. I keep checking my e-mail too. If this keeps up, I might call their office...even though it says, "Do not call all our office for application status. We will call you if we decide to interview you."

dont be suprised. if you're over qualified and out of state, that is probably the reason for rejection. my brother's friend got accepted to TCNJ/UMDNJ, PSU/Thomas Jefferson, and Northwestern HPME yet was rejected by Stony Brook
