The answer is 99% of the time: Yes, you can handle the workload!!!

I'm in 5 AP classes right now(Calc BC, Physics, Lit, Gov, and Psych) and it is totally doable. I just am in hell occasionally and contemplate suicide only a couple times a week. Haha. The homework load is sometimes impossible(mainly because I am just tired and lazy after school) so I just don't do it and end up fine. I have all A's. Just make sure you catch up with the material eventually.

No but really, AP classes are not that hard. If you have a brain and can withstand a little bit of stress now and then you will do absolutely fine. The teachers can't fail everyone or make things ridiculously difficult.

If someone /wants/ to take on a certain coarse load, and they’re willing to put in the effort required, by all means, they should do it. No one on the internet is going to know your abilities more than you do.

I think a lot of people wouldn’t be able to handle 5 AP classes though, or at least do well in them. That’s why they ask. I’ve asked a similar question in the past, and I really didn’t know if I could handle it. Now I realize that 3 AP classes really isn’t that much, but I really wasn’t sure before. There’s nothing wrong with asking. If you don’t want to answer, then don’t. No one says you have to read every single thread.

Edit: Also, many of the AP classes at my school are really hard, and the teachers do make it very difficult. It doesn’t mean you don’t have a brain if you can’t handle it.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with getting input from others to weigh your options.

Although it would probably be best to ask people at your school who have taken those classes if the workload is manageable. The difficulty of a class often depends on the teacher. Like I wouldn’t advise any upcoming seniors to enroll in AP Physics C and AP Chem at the same time because both classes are brutal at my school. I think the amount of people who can handle that workload along with 3+ other AP’s is well below 99%.

AP classes vary from school to school, the only things that’s standardized is the test(save for a few requirements of what need to be taught in the class i.e in AP lit you are required to read Shakespeare). We cannot answer the question of if you can handle the work because we do not go school, what the AP classes the OP thinks is doable for him or her might be impossible to even comprehend at my school or foolish’s school etc.

A more valid question would be how hard is the AP test for X class, and the answer would be search the AP prep forum and then if you cannot find your answer ask either here or in the AP prep section.

One thing I might add is don’t take a bunch of AP classes senior year!! Senioritis is real…

Just kidding. Yeah I agree with the other posters that take as many as you want if you are willing to put some time into the classes. Also take all of the APs that you are passionate about.

@foolish @tacoperson123 Sheesh, you guys stalked my page? I feel violated. Ha, yes those were the days I was young and stupid. I am just sharing a little bit of wisdom now. And foolish, you are a jerk. But good one.
