I am very sorry if I offended you Alumom. I've been here a couple of months now, and I have realized there is an abundance of braggarts and annoying people, even aside from parents.

Forgive me if you aren't one of those types, I understand a parent's need to publicly commend their offspring.

I actually would like to do some public service to help people with what I'm good at.

It kind of offends me that you call me arrogant, I just figured for a user name I should highlight something scholastic which I excel at; however, I see how it can be taken as arrogant, along with my sometimes cynical seeming attitude.

it was a hook in 1968- how many people had even seen a computer?
That was the same year 2001- a space odessey was released, when I thought of a computer- I thought of Hal 9000.

It wouldn't be a hook now- my 14 year old has been designing web pages since she was 11- and she isn't even interested in computers except for as a tool.

Texas - Nice apology. I appreciate it. You know what? I probably am annoying some times, I know I am a braggart some times. But if you read between the lines, probably you can also tell how much I love my kids and how hard I try to be honest and 'fess up to my agendas. Or at the very least, reading between the lines would tell you I try hard period. Emotional intelligence means being able to read all of that.

As for public service, it's not just so people can see what you are good at. This is very important. It is for you to become thankful for what you are good at, to realize the value of your talents in context, not just for the score or the recognition. There are a lot of people here on cc who can probably give you some good ideas.

There are lots of stereotypes about prep school kids. A potentially true one is that we won't last a year if our written language is not excellent. We also read many more classics than I ever did in public school. This has given me great food for thought. Have I been taught antiquated language? I went and chatted with an english teacher. She said you'd be hard pressed to find an under 750 SAT writing score here. I'm now feeling pathetic with my 780.

OK, I'll get out in the sunshine and let my alter ego do teen speak! All lessons like really appreciated!!

caution do not rely on Mcdonalds commericals to interpret street slang for instance their ad " I'd hit it" in reference to what a customer would do to a double cheeseburger- does not mean what they think it means

Well, let you tell you what Texasmathwhiz really specializes in.....he revealed his interest in numbers when he sent me a pm asking me what my bra size is, and some other disgusting questions. This was so random and out of the blue, I had to disengage my pm. What a creep.

Get away from CC, and go read your porn magazines, TMW, and stop being rude to the parents.
