Can anyone tell me how to stop getting notifications every time someone posts? Its not bookmarked so that doesn’ work and under my settings - its either all notifications or none, can I just stop it on certain threads like this one that has gone on forever? I would delete my comment if I thought that would work or could find it but there are too many pages. HELP!?
Hi @cloudysmom. Click on your name to go into your activity page. Click on the orange edit profile button, then profile. Unclick “notify me when people comment on discussions I’ve participated in.” That should do it. You can still receive notification of of additions to discussions you’ve bookmarked.
@Sue22 Thank you but that only lets me opt out of all or none, there are still threads in which I would like to be noticied, just not this one that is so many per day. I can’t believe CC would not have that option but I can’t seem to find out?
Just bookmark the ones you still want to get notifications for.
–Click on your name
–Click on the orange button “Edit Profile”
–Click “Preferences” directly under the orange “Edit Profile” button
–From “Notification Preferences” you can check either email or popup notifications for the different options.
@chercheur Thank you but again, it seems it is only all or nothing, I cannot select which to receive notifications from and which not to. Just wondered if anyone knew if it was possible to turn off notifications for just SOME of them like this one that is very active.

Yes, it’s possible. You can select either email, popup, or nothing under “Notification Preferences.” My instructions above work on a laptop. Below are the options I can select notifications for:
Notify me when people write on my wall.
Notify me when people reply to my wall comments.
Notify me when people comment on my discussions.
Notify me when people comment on my bookmarked discussions.
Notify me when people mention me.
Notify me when people comment on discussions I’ve participated in.
Notify me of private messages.
OP - it sounds like you are just going to “Notifications.” That’s not where it’s at. You need to find “Notification Preferences.” For me, it’s under Edit Profile > Preferences.

@chercher @sue22 Thank you both, I am looking at the right place but what I guess I am not explaining is that I have to choose a setting for ALL OF IT - either pop up or email - of each instance (when people write on my wall, when people mention me, etc) It is not by THREAD. I want all notifications off for THIS THREAD ONLY but if I do that I must turn it off for ALL threads - see what I mean? Please don’t bother yourself further, you have been very kind to try and help but it seems impossible to pick and choose threads.
But you can pick and choose threads (I do) by turning them all off globally and then turn on the ones you want by hitting each thread’s Bookmark.
One last comment, @cloudysmom . Bookmark the threads you DO want notifications from. Checkmark “Notify me when people comment on my bookmarked discussions.” Uncheck all of the other options; then you are in control of which individual threads you get notifications from.
@chercheur This thread is unchecked yet I still get notifications so that does not work. Thank you all but I will turn it all off, it’s too confusing to me, all other communities online I belong to seem to have easy instructions but here it is so unclear - but I appreciate your help!
You started this discussion so it’s a different case from when you comment on someone else’s. If you don’t want to get notifications for this thread you need to uncheck the “Notify me when people comment on my discussions” box.
@Sue22 I didn’t mean to start a discussion, the admins must have moved it. I posted a question in a longer thread, ugh, this just gets worse by the minute! Admin - please close or delete this moved thread - I can’t take it any more!
@cloudysmom Just uncheck everything. You won’t receive any type of notification that way 
Edit: Don’t forget to hit the “Save” button after doing so.
I feel bad there is this thread started over 1 what I thought was a simple question, I hope they close this! I never wanted this, ugh groan!
