Can anyone tell us the names of the stores which are located in the shopping center adjacent to USC? Is there a pharmacy, grocery store, dry cleaners, barber shop and camera shop?

There's a pharmacy (but there's one on campus too), grocery store (Superior), barbershop/hair salon (2 or 3), and I believe there's a camera shop, too...not sure if they sell cameras or if it's just printing photos.

Can't remember if there's a dry cleaner.

there's a list of the stores at University Village here: About USC - Visit USC - University Park Campus - Places to Shop

It strikes me as not targeted to the college crowd, oddly enough.

The closest and best real grocery store is Ralph's at Vermont and Adams. The first thing the student should do is get a Ralph's card for discounts. It's a frequent shopper card you scan at the register, not a credit card.

Thank you all for the excellent information. Does anyone know if Classic Camera and Photo has a camera repair service? My son got some sand in his Nikon camera on his travel abroad trip which needs to be professionally cleaned. I am debating between getting the camera cleaned here or having my son getting the job done near USC. Thanks again. I really appreciate the Ralph's tip.

I've stuck my head in the camera shop and selling prints / photo frames seemed to be their focus. I don't recall seeing actual cameras for sale or a repair service. If it's a high-end camera, I doubt they would have much experience with it anyway, as it's not something people from the surrounding community bring in everyday.

If you have time to get it cleaned at home, I would do that so it's less for him to worry about when school starts. However, if it does need to wait, I'm sure Los Angeles has some very reputable Nikon dealers or repair shops, they just won't be near USC.

Getting it cleaned at home seems like the better option. Unless he has a car, it's going to be a hassle securing transportation to get to a camera shop.

Thanks so much for your time and extra effort to help us out. I'll take care of it here.
