Stories about biggest point increases??

Share biggest point jumps and also how many points can you go up without being red flagged?

My friend went from a 28–>36. But he said the first time he took it he had no idea about the format, timing, etc…Apparently the 36 came from 2 practice tests.

I know some one who went from 25 to 35

I only went from 29–>32 composite but my english went from 26–>35

Went up 23 to 28 easily barely did any practice got a 5 point increase. I did practice though, not to the full extent that I could have. I could easily have gotten a 32 I felt if I practiced very hard for this.

I went from a 25 to a 32…now waiting on these…

I like these stories. They give me hope  I got 28 on the April 2012 test. I didn’t study for that test and had not taken the ACT in 3 years (I took it once in 7th grade, and I took the April test at the end of the 10th grade). I’ve bought some prep books (They actually do help!) and I believe I’m ready to challenge the ACT another time. I hope to achieve at least a 33 in September 2012

Best of luck to you!

Wow you took the ACT extremely early, good luck to you too!

20 to 31…well the 20 I got in 7th grade but yeah…lol 31 was at school last year (11th grade) and I had the SAT the same week so I had no idea what to expect. Hoping for 35/36 now.

@limitless what book has helped you the most?

I’ve taken the ACT 3 times. The first time I got a 24, second time a 26, third time actually studied a bit beforehand and got a 29. I’m taking it one last time and hope to get a 32.

From end of junior year to beginning of senior year, both my kids added five points to their composite. Tutoring and taking 3-4 full practice tests over the summer.

@northwesty: what was their score at the beginning?
